  1. Go one up higher 20" :), If you can be bothered try The Tyre experts up in fawkner, cheaper than TTF and willing to take your old wheels and tyres off you if you need to, though i suggest you keep them for 'in-case' scenarios. On another note; On Wednesday / Thursday last week, at Crown Casino parking I saw a sweet Sportivo Aurion, in white, black 5?? spoke rims lowered, cambered at the back but not sure if it was naturally with the lowering, and had a white TRD throwover seat cover on the drivers seat, Is there anyone here who owns it?
  2. yeah same $210 here, even if you look at local coupon books, tint a car (didnt get them in time) was offering 50 dollars off on their range...
  3. Agree with all above, See a lawyer, take your friend with you, because contract is with him and the lawyer needs to scope out this employment agreement. With the 1,400 is that payable to TMCA? if so then your friend will be in the crossfire of this definately, As above go through the terms and conditions with the sale contract. Good luck
  4. Meh, had mine done at tint professor 28% i recall all round their black one, no problems with interference at all.
  5. Tyres? I think the Michellin Energies were good... Well look at mods this way, until you see good results from people in the US on their camrys then dont bother....
  6. Good find and looks good, hefty price though...
  7. How did you find out their using BP viscous 2000? and Yes Dealers should be using the oil recommended in the manual.
  8. Yeah, tell me about it, even when you remove the suction cup holder make sure there is no mark on the windscreen of th suction, this also gives the impression to thieves that there is a unit in the car.
  9. Not sure, Cheap way is to get some 3M velcro tabs and just attach it somewhere on the dash colour it grey to match if you like quick and easy and doesnt give an impression to theives that you have a GPS unit on board coz it would look like it could be for anything lol. I think the main reason for the windscreen mount is that its the best place where you dont have to make much eye/head movement etc, so you basically still have your eyes on the road in front when you decide to play with it on the go...
  10. Yes, driving style is a big contributor. For exampke, if you like to tail gate your consumption is likely to be higher than someone who leaves a larger distance to the car in front. That's because with a larger distance you can at times avoid unnecessary braking (and consequently accelerating). If you tail gate, you may have to drive more aggressively (hence higher consumption) to keep the distance to a minimum. ... I don't want to hear about any "slip streaming" effect reducing drag and saving fuel (unless you're doing Nascar driving and tail gate by 1-2 inches) :D Lol i slip stream all the time gotta make use of all that -.000001% drag factor, j/k. Another thing, not sure how well the Aurion Gbox will handle it, is to slip it to Neutral down hills and on red lights, you'll save more petrol again...
  11. Well, you are not moving anywhere and your engine is running then obviously... Just to note to all on your next service, just ask Toyota to do a diagnostic check on the engine, it should be covered in your 120 buck bill and or part of warranty.
  12. No its not linier, many people fine that the 100 octane doesnt give you more distance than the standard 98. different quality fuels also affect the consumption rate. Im my case I find the 98 vortex feels much better and get better economy than the shell vpower racing. Any higher the octane and the fuel burns too slow and car will suffer. Its all in the case of diminishing returns. In regards to going from normal unleaded to the premiums, looking at it the price you pay extra nulls the extra distance, but with shell etc they claim to add cleansing additives so if you looking also at a maintenance point of view then perhaps its worth the extra cents.
  13. Umm as said before car's in Aus would need to have the side beam before registration, i don't think Toyota can get away with it.. If suprisingly there isn't then maybe the fact accelerating out of a corner you are more likely to understeer into a pole (head on) than oversteer and slide into one drives Toyota's thinking on this one....?
  14. Well always one in the Nunawading showroom here in Melb, and in related service centre as well...
  15. mmm im more thinking of the fuel level triggers the calculations, which is not accurate as a fuel tank is not square in shape and has less surface volume area towards the bottom and possibly top. because when I fill my tank to around the halfway mark i get better city fuel economy than if I were driving close to empty... As posted just before fuel weight would be more precise unless they make a perfect square fuel tank...
  16. Just to add there is an article on the latest RACV mag on the lemon rule legistlation thats apparently being passed, obviously there are some exceptions, one is that the defects stacking up on the car has to be one that affects drivability and safety and not just plain nuisances....
  17. Lol that camery one is rubbish, heard someone bought one of those all in one the picture was horrible, colour was saturated and you couldnt view it from any angle except straight on. Going back to the original question, its all about what you like your car to look at the end of the day, if your very serious on making your car look OEMish or smick tidy all round and money is no object then go for the $3k GPS unit, but by comparison to a flagship 700 dollar unit it will do less, and upgrading maps could be more tricky. and plus yeah no dvd. I have a navman s80 and does the job for me, as long you dont leave any signs that u have a gps unit in the car e.g. suction marks or leaving the holder on screen then you should be fine...
  18. Lol... really Umm i dont think there is a way to force it to play DVD's...... so im guessing you paid a $2000 dollar GPS unit, toyota would be smiling. Well did you ask which one you are getting?, if you didnt you can guess by the price of it. over 3k RRP will be the factory looking not black one... i paid over 3k so it should be the silver one then. :) i asked her which 1 i would get and the lady told me that theres only 1 sort and that its the factory fitted version. i just dont want to be shocked last minute if i see an ugly black thing in the middle of the console. :D i paid over 3k so it must be the good looking one :) why is the black version also cheaper? i couldnt also find any features of the sat-nav. would there be any info in the aurion manual? Well according to the Toyota website, its basically the same as the stock unit unit, minus 2 cd slots, plus GPS and bluetooth which generally comes with gps units anyways these days. http://www.toyota.com.au/Accessories/acces...64_1312,00.html (though this ones for the black unit). Im guessing the black one is cheaper because its a pretty much like an aftermarket option, doesnt blend as well as the silver one and plus the silver one i assume Toyota assembles these whereas the black one is probably from a cheapo company rebranded. Some thing I just noticed is the Black version has a AUX input, which is definitely NOT on the Factory fitted version. And the Black one does not have FM2 ( I dont what this is, but it hasnt got a button for it ) yeh looks like im going to have the factory version. plus they would not fit a black version from the factory as it doesnt suit with the console so, my guess is same as yours. the black one must be as an aftermarket version where as the silver one is the factory version. hmm thats not right, when i asked the melbourne city toyota they offered me which one did I wanted, though I said no to both. Umm you can get the facia replacement for 30 bucks and that should fit that black one... dealer is different though. i made my dad call up for the order from toyota and i later took the phone and asked which 1 i would get and the lady said that its the factory version. they would not fit the black one in if its a factory version. like another buddy said, the black one must be from a dealership as an extra. they wouldnt fit the black one from the factory as it also doesnt match the console. ill call soon and ask about it. does anyone know if it would be expensive to make it play dvds. Yes if they tell u its the factory version then you will get teh silver, the black one is treated as an accessory as you can see on the toyota website, Well it depends if it has a video in jack if not then tough luck. You'll spend a mini fortune to butcher the unit and plus you'll lose the warranty. as rift said if you can get a portable dvd player and jack it in if it has the video input....
  19. remember Forced induction generally means matching fuel lines and remapping of the ECU, which I dont believe there is any piggyback/standalone unit for the Aurion yet...

  23. Should be the same cant see why not. Then engine from what recall is the same, sounds like you planning alot of mods already, otherwise in half to 2 years down the track im pretty sure you can pick up a 2nd hand trd aurion anyways, im pretty sure a few people would come to realise the dissappointment... and probably you can get one cheap and then start modding off that...? I got the feeling that the Aurion as it comes now is perfectly balanced in tuning to cater both performance and fuel effeciency... finding mods will just offset one for the other. If you looking for muffler growl perhaps you can get one custom made to meet the spec of the is350? still wont be the same tho given the is350 runs the 2GR-FSE, and pulls 230kw at the crank...
