  1. Not sure on the testing Jon, I just checked out the quick facts pages at teh back of the mag and thats is what they quoted, tho dissappointing to see they gave the Zr6 it a 2/5 star. Agree with their approach to this, Ive heard from a mate that theyve quoted a Falcon GT-P acheiving 14.2 qrtr, but in reality its been clocked at 13.5 Just to note, Ive floated on the FORD forums as well, and people have witnessed Aurions making 14.5-14.7's runs, as biased as they should have been they were impressed/suprised at the Aurions potency.
  2. Congrats on the buy, True it not as fun as RWD but hey this aint a sports car... I am happy with the Zr6 i have bought, and tell you what it is a sleeper to many people. They don't expect a camry base to go so fast as they expected to go, clocked by motor mag, a Zr6 does 0-100 @ 6.8sec and Qtr mile at 14.7, given the assumption they were driving fresh not broken in cars, I think the times could be .1 to .2 faster again. This time my friend is as fast as a XR6T ute, faster than A BF NA 6 and VE NA 6's, let alone fuel economy is more impressive. The engine itself has been rated as one of the worlds best (but the test was done on the Direct injection version of this ala 240kw version), As for the wheels check out the TRD website and take the numbers for the tyres they used on thier 19's that should be the right one..
  3. You void the warranty on the parts you replace, AND/OR any part that gets damaged due to the replaced part. The speedometer will only get affected if the full diameter of the wheel and tyre either exceeds or decreases than the original diameter, if you sit on 19's and have 35 height (tyre wall) tyres should be the almost exactly the same diameter as 18's on 45's (I think you be out by .5 cm tho) The likelyhood something going to happen due to your wheels is pretty rare, just ask yourself what can go wrong if I go up a size in rims? suspension stress is onething when your tyre wall gets too low and does not absorb impact as good as it was higher ... As for load and speed ratings this is a regulation you must follow, going BELOW from what it specifies makes the car more dangerous and prone to an accident and hence is a defective vehicle, cops will pick on cars with nice rims and low profile tyres because the lower profile you go the harder the required ratings come by. The two sizes thing..., Im pretty sure is another road law thing, debatable police usually avoid this unless its too obvious the rims are too big.. as most cars come with factory rims in a range of sizes so what is the benchmark?, Cops more importantly look at the load and speed rating as said above as this is more of an impact to safety than sticking 19's over the crappy old 16 steelies.
  4. Cant see why it wont fit studs should be identical, they probably might for a premium....
  5. Nice ride!, For lowering height? price? As for subs what are you running?
  6. Hey AcoustiK That's a VYS I have for sale ... Interested???? mmmm, nah not today :P
  7. Looks good :), yeah 2.5 is a bit steep but as long ur happy for what its worth :). Whats that black car with the chromies on the lawn in the last pic?
  8. Just don't baby the car. A softly brokenin car will go soft for its life.
  9. Ummm, should be ok, but I would rather keep driving in the populated areas for the break in period just incase your car has a dormant mechanical fault (IMO I wouldnt want to stuck halfway in a 300km stretch of road with nobody around...). But if your still going to go ahead, for the breakin period make sure u drive at different speeds during the long cruises, dont stay constant at one speed.
  10. Well how sure are u in getting another car in tht time, if more than 3 yrs or you do heaps and heaps of driving then go for it. But even if your unsure then that extended warranty may be seen a plus for buyers of your car...
  11. Im not saying the Kappas arent good wheels, they should be as what I read somewhere RacingHart makes some of the TRD rims not too sure about the kappa...,. Although for 2K I would expect these to be a 2 piece 3 piece rim, or very lightweight racing rims, not just a better looking stock Zr6 rims which are shyte. That saying.... "A race inspired wheel design that allows fitment of even lower profile 225/45 R18 95Y tyres for that high performance look is definitely what will set your Aurion apart from the rest. All Toyota Genuine Alloy Wheels are manufactured to Toyota's stringent standards and tested for strength and durability." - The sentance does not look promising looks more like fluff.... Although hvent seen these rims in the flesh closeup so I cant really judge but by judging on everything else toyota provides as genuine and overpriced i am making the assumption that this would fall into this category.
  12. Agree, as long they look the goods and ADR approved then... I believe that 90% of people out there don't know much about what available to them when buying new cars or cars in general, they pay for the comfort they think that will only come if they buy everything genuine (Be safe), but at such a ridiculous price they put on these parts, obviously businesses organisation exploit and prey on this trait.
  13. What would I know, I was the one responsible for it being available for sale at the dealers in the first place.... But whatever you reckon mate. To all dealers? through TMCA?
  14. Koya Rush2's on a 8.5 width. I was originally after XIX X05's but found this one similar and got a good bargain for them. Yep same thing happened to me, saw a pic a while back of a black zr6 with chromies, and just said thats it hehe :)
  15. Thats wild! :) So youve removed the ashtray and placed a dvd unit into it... nice. 3.5V Version... So the aurion is the 4cyl i presume ala camry.
  16. Hard to say but long trips like those I would not sacrifice comfort too much, but as you said the road are very good there perhaps you can get away with it... But to note, with my 20's doesnt feel bad actually... noticable but doesnt get to that point where its annoying. but then thats me, I like feeling the road that im on, with the standard rims and tyres it felt as tho i was floating on air so quiet and smooth, felt uncomfortable mentally lol.
  17. Looks good mate. I think 5000K ones are the way to go basically, any higher it gets too blue, looks great but no good for visibility, especially in the rain fog etc....
  18. So you are comparing the TRD USA wheels to some sad aftermarket rim? How is aftermarket rims sad?? if you go for some cheapo unknown brand then probably buy most aftermarket rims you find in your local Tyre stores e.g. Donallens, Bobjane, TTF are usually better than the ones that come with the car, have a closer look at rims and probably I can guess here is that the TRD USA wheel is probably made from an aftermarket wheel co. just rebranded with the Toyota logo. As it stands anything genuine from Toyota or any car manufacturer to be more exact is a rip off, over priced and usually the cheapest option from an aftermarket producer rebranded to the car brand.
  19. As mentioned in one of my note: I went to Tint-A-Car, they showed me many types from $250 to over $800 - Tintprofessor gave me one-quote-fit-all $265 ..... well it turned out very hard decision. BH Over 800, what are those ones?
  20. Well if you are a mature driver, youd know TCS is a good thing and wouldnt want to turn it off in the first place, but as in some circumstances where your stuck in the mud etc, you'll need it off, but really if your planning to go to places where this sort of situation can come about, you should know or carry with you intructions to turn it off. But synonymous with hoons are burnouts doughy's etc, so if you cut that thats agood 80% less dangerous showoff moments already.
  21. Agree, stops all the careless hoons if they decide to try to fang it in the wet.
  22. Nice, congrats on the new car, 18's sound good, but have you tried 19's or 20's, big wheels look the part with the big car, 235's if your on 8.0 rims any wider you'll be stretching the tyres and looking like drift lol. hope to see pics soon..
  23. Well if you after ANZ specifically yes they own ANZ and would be unbeatable on that price, as for others I was looking for Ive been quoted cheaper, and TTF at dandy couldnt match it, sunshine could be a different story. And yes selling to people directly or through ebay will give you better $ for the wheels.
