  1. lol, yeah it doesnt help with those skinny tyres these cars come with, even the Commodore and Falcon at least get fatter treads..
  2. Umm that is a standard TCS experience. You can picture it, Tyres spins you dont move forward, TCS kicks in and wheels get grip and accelerates jolting you forward power builds up and Tyres spin again, TCS kicks in and wheels get grip and accelerates jolting you forward power builds up... and reiterate until you ease of throttle or shifts into second gear/ third (perhaps in wet).
  3. Yeah that would be great, if you can get one and Darius too, With the 2GE being such a smooth engine I would be suprised if there were spikes! Aint it a 2GR (2GR-FE) :P there should be spikes like v-tec yuo! would be more fun. Yep your right, 2GR, my mistake.
  4. Yeah that would be great, if you can get one and Darius too, With the 2GE being such a smooth engine I would be suprised if there were spikes!
  5. Congrats on the new car. My previous car was a Liberty 3.0R spec B. Was a great car but you are not missing much. Aurion goes much better, in a straight line at least. :P Did you take it to STI (Theres one in here in Melbourne @ docklands) for a performance tune? makes the car just over 200kw nice increase in torque heaps more responsive.
  6. Don't know the full story, but according to Darius he managed something like 5kw-10kw increase in fwkw over another aurion which was stock (variance may attribute to whether either car was broken in properly or not), whether its just peaky or a good overall shift is still in the air...
  7. Yes what Silver said. Smaller 4cyl to 6cyl cars need the backpressure especially on the lower end of the rev range, if you put like 3" on a 1.8ltr lancer or something u will lose lot of downend power and torque. Just picture sucking on a straw and sucking on a digarido, you can get more turbulance (scavenging) on the straw than the digarido. In essence, on lower revs there is less push for the exhausts to escape and therefore you need the turbulance to pull it out whereas at higher revs theres more push and therefore a thin exhaust becomes a bottle neck. Thats why Im a bit skeptical on the exhaust issue, especially with the Dual VVTI Id like to seee if there is a complete overall increase in HP or whether an increase is there at high end but a loss of low end has occurred.
  8. i would b worried if it went off.. if insurance is paying for the damages, then fine; if not.. hell look at that bill that is coming soon.. Yeah on a payoff level i would be ******... I was looking at a Safety level. 45kmh is pretty fast, and especially going to a Tbone situation you only have a door stopping that engine bay slamming into you...
  9. lol! worth it if you got fined 10K for an exhaust job, I think normal people would not... :o impossible, how? Ive seen/heard people in corollas, supras, mr2's got their car impounded. Ive heard someone in the lexus LS got impounded too. Rim's and exhaust system just gives the police more visibility to target. Its not the car, its how you drive it, but then again cops these days tend to flout. and Btw, im sure Drag racing is considered a hoon activity, you could be driving a gogo mobil for who knows and will be caught under the act.
  10. 40 is about right, what is your max psi rating on the tyres? 50? ive heard people saying it feels more right around 44psi, but im a bit weary pushing it too hard as this will round up the middle treads
  11. Actually, from another source, the engine is a twin turbo charged stroked 3.2 L6 Supra engine that produces 1800hp
  12. Im suprised the Curtain airbags didn't go off!!! at a 45km/h impact, Damage doesnt look that bad from the picture though...
  13. Agree with Danny, As for police, its not their fault, its all handed down from the top brass of our state, two things you can blame for the growing clampdown... A) Hoons who have ruined the tuner image, by hooning or crashing altogether B) Climate change causing pressure to regulatory bodies to improve emission throughout the board. Give a few years and there will be no more modifications unless its club licenced or race specific.
  14. Geez 30 height, you gonna be riding on rails there. **Importantly make sure you take care of teh tyres, 3cm means no sidewall flex whatsoever, so keep in inflated to a good pressure at all times otherwise it will errode inside out and may bubble when you go over bumps.** Check it every 3 fuel fills
  15. Welcome aboard, First and foremost, congrats on your purchase.. what made you look at the sx6 over teh spec b liberty, If I had the money I would have opted for teh Spec B but as you know there is a noticable price difference... 1) No doubt you can, its just probably an led that can be changed. But you probably have to hack into the cluster, which i wouldnt recommend especially on a new car.. 2) Asia, their camry is our Aurion, and theres plenty of cheap attempts to make different grill types. I think people here looked at Indonesia/Malaysia or Thailand for those parts. 3) As for the USA, youd be looking at their camry which is like our camry but with the Aurion engine, should share the same parts and the body of the camry and aurion is similar. As for the range or performance, its a pretty much small market for this car, as people who usually buy Camrys/Aurions are not really into modding up, but rather as a A to Ber.
  16. Well this is what I like to see, Stock Torque/Power curves Aurion vs Falcon vs Commodore, I know Motor mag did a test 6.8-6.9 seconds for the Aurion ATX/Zr6 (options make the car heavier) Put some decent tyres you can probably get 6.7 Ive beaten NA6's commodores/falcons all day, beaten chasers, ftos, GTI's, and those who can't launch / shift manual properly on Rex's supras skylines etc, they'll be embarrased... What I liek to see is the DInjection put into these engines to give the full 240kw, but rather have this car a RWD/AWD platform, then this will be a real sleeper...
  17. Lol, I think Toyota should offer like a Brushed aluminium panels as an alternative for teh Presara, cause I agree with you, plastic woodgrain has gotta be the worst Luxury wannabe piece of poo ever...
  18. Thanks mate, Uhhh I would follow up with TMCA (Given the warranty is manufacturers) if I were you, and if they say it doesnt void, tell them to either send a letter or easier an email to say it is, so when the time comes you got something to back u up.
  19. Nice... Nitrous... is it a dry or wet? that engine bay looks sweet from your gallery, pretty clean!, who did your work on the car? must have cost a mint.. Given the amount of work, u wouldve taken it to the drag strip, if so what times did you manage to clock up?
  20. Frenchy, I'd love to see your setup of the S/C in your celica, have u got pics under the bonnet?, Also what sort of Nitrous oxide setup? and how many kw are u pushing through the front?
  21. Darius have you got Dyno Graphs on both stock and your car? I would like to see the curve changes with the exhaust. as for void warranty, Toyota will do anything to avoid endorsing warranty when they can spot tampering, any mods just gives them ammunition.
  22. 160K is worth the money, the engineering and performance to eat most Supercars makes it a supercar in its self, What other production car at that price could perform as good, I know that the new 911 is on the horizon and BMW's CSL could be a hit, but only time will tell, Remember Porche is for the name, exclusivity, and pick up chicks on a regular basis. on a tecnical perspective GTR wins hands down.
  23. 8500K either thats a jokes based on the HAHAHA, OR... He took a blue marker and tinted the bulbs a bit to give it teh 500K edge!
  24. Thats looking good VF-X, Pity you didn't do this earlier, you would have made me reconsider chromes lol, but i did consider it at the start though but you would have pushed me!. apart from that... go the Kumhos! im assuming ecstas? How you finding the noise?
  25. Agree with DKJOR, do a manual calculation, Also from what I was informed that the calculations are based on petrol fill height of the tank (im not sure if its a buoyancy meter tho?), which is silly because the fuel tanks is not a perfect cube so at the highest point and and lower points the fuel will decrease quicker than the mid ranges, so the trip computer thinks your driving it hard and will push the averages up when your fuel tank is low end.
