Yes, that was most probably ours - Wife & kids were over there doing some last-minute Chritsmas stuff. What are you doing in this neck of the woods mate?!
Just had our 40,000km service done, and the tyres still have a few mm of tread before they're at the indicators. Hoping to push them out to sometime in the New Year
Returning from Dubbo had lunch in the main drag Park dont miss a beat and you cant hide mate!

I will be asking for the all Metal one!
I got the letter last week
-
Insurance company "you were hit with a what?" a house :D
-
It will be interesting to see how these go as they were slightly more expensive that the Stockies I replaced at 36,000Kms, Im running Nitrogen now and 40+PSI and had a 4 wheel alignment.....and unfortunately I will have to have my pipe done as I have an old New Kluger
-
Good stuff mate - will be looking myself soon
Were you at Orange Macas today? If not you cars twin was with a High gain UHF antenna on the Nudge bar
The new Tyres have made a huge difference on the handling more so than the Lighter Subaru
-
Yes indeed!
I have been driving my RX7 allot recently, just have the POS Toyota parked out in the sun since this oil line scandal/saga.
Will have a break over Christmas and more than likely put it up for sale in new year, then go buy the V6 twin turbo diesel VW I originally test drove (in hindsight for a little more money it was a much better motor car *if not as fast*).
Why not go for an X5 then. Only a little more money.
Bugger that if I had the money I know what Id get
The fast family wagon

I took my Nudge bar off to fit my Spot lights its very easy wit the right tools
Just out of interest, why did you take the nudge bar off to fit your spots?
I did not want any extra holes to mount the HID pendant lights (mount from the top NOT BOTTOM LIKE most spots) and also I Had to mount the Ballast behind the number plate, not your usual installation trust me. Mine are beside the number plate, very neat and very unobtrusive they look factory.
I could mount more light on the top side of the bar if I needed too, all with no additional hole so totally reversible :D

Wow, this thread sounds so familiar. Should probably try a search first. It even has the same name:
Will be at foster this long weekend if u want we can go together I'll be bringing the prado and I got the s/strap if u get bog
Take off the traction control and let your tyres down a bit if your keen and you should be sweet

I feel Exhaust mods don't look quite right with out a cut out in the Body work
-
Good work every body likes a saving
By the way only use those tow points in an emergency, I have been told not to use them.

^ Highly recommend reading for ANYONE with a 3.5lt V6 engine (with dodgy rubber oil feed line that is proven to cause ENGINE FAILURE!) as I have in this car. Since this thread is so popular and gets many hits and comes up high on search engines I would like to make this as visible as is possible towards Toyota's level of shoddiness and sub standard treatment of customers in an effort to keep their accountants happy and retain a big fat Christmas bonus for the C&UNTS who authorize these sub standard level of "warranty call back repairs"
BE WARNED (if affected) you will be f7cked around and will have to take it upon yourself to get a suitable outcome from this company.
This has f7cked me off so much that this piece of sh7t of a car will be for sale and I will NEVER EVER buy another motor vehicle from these tight ****'s ever again nor will I recommend anyone else to either.
Signed not happy Jan
Back to the Mazda's I'd say

Picked up the new Kluger yesterday and when driving off I was surprised to hear my wife say we only had 1/4 of a tank of fuel.
So the first drive included a trip to the service station to put in $60 worth of fuel.
I though that was a bit stingy, having just bought $50,000 worth of car.
Is it standard practice now to not get a full tank of fuel at delivery?
Ask before you sign, its amazing what the difference is....it was hard even with a 60+k car 2 + years ago...but I got it
-
:o Yes, I did it, but my wife was against the selling initially.
I don't use it for off road much at all and I don't use the 2nd row seats or the third row.
So its a lot of beast to have around in dollar terms.
I can tell all you guys one thing, IT HOLDS IT VALUE BIG TIME.
But the key was AWD and the third row seats and still in show room condition.
It was a novated lease car, but I was the original registered person it was registered under.
I paid out the residual two weeks back to take owner ship.
I got more for it than what I paid to own it by a fair 0,000 margin and the trade in price was only a few hundred $$'s lower than the original Fleet purchase price.
I will still be visiting this forum and still have a keen interest for Klugers.
I will now be driving a leather interior VE Berlina with 40,000ks on it and I have enough change to buy my wife a new Yaris if we decide on a Yaris.
The maths add up, but I will miss the Klugers solid ride and presence about the whole vehicle.
Funny if you sell the Berlina next week you will be able to buy the Fuel for the Yaris ....they depreciate very quickly...we sold ours to buy the Kluger...I would never do it again....good luck with it
-
Wow after reading about how much you guys all payed Im glad I went back to the Stockies...not that I really liked them!
-
Well after 35000Kms I have got new stock Bridgstone Tyres again these are made in the USA unlike the originals that were made in Japan
The Yokies ST's were about $75.00 per corner more and I was not keen to be the Gini Pig.... Sorry guys
If your in Sydney Talk to Zack at Bob Jane @ Peakhurst he was way cheaper than the other stealers....and he threw in some Nitrogen to boot, we will see if its any better with a new ALL WHEEL Alignment and funny gas, fuel economy and longevity compared to the last set of boots :o
The Wife is Very happy with them, that is the main thing it feels better and she doesn't have to check the Tyre Pressure, not that she does any way

I found out about the recall last month, I can find out what they are using as the std Kluger replacement as they were waiting on recall shipment from OS
-
... what if it didnt and you have a Grande, can we start the car with out the fob present???
With the Smart Entry, if you battery is flat you can hold the key up to the start button (the Toyota logo held close to the start button), then you quickly pull the key away and immediately press the start button.
That interesting do you know if it is a magnetic swipe type device and maybe water proof?

How long do the HID lights take to warm up?
Long enough to say I'm never going back to Halogen!

They are small HID spot lights with Hella Ballasts, not the greatest light out put Ive had on my cars but a modest up grade, I may go hole hog rally 2000 HID conversion aswell Wife may crack it .
I mounted them near the number plate with no holes, just a lot of brackets and washers and the ballasts are mounted behind the number plate!
They look like they were ment to be there and the wife didn't go get those big ugly spotties off my car!
They came with a remote control so you dont need to wire in a switch in the cabin
-
My Key Fob has been for a swim in fresh water and it still worked when I got back to the car, what if it didnt and you have a Grande, can we start the car with out the fob present??? We were on Holiday 6 hours from Sydney and the second remote was at home....now we always take two when we go away
-
Yep I SAW THAT ONE TOO,
Funny because my wife's scout name is Gecko and she drives the Kluger 90% of the time
Poor little Gecko :D

The other bad news is that Toyota went cheap with this fix--only the rubber line and 2 clamps are replaced!
Yeah, I head that they are replacing it with a 'revised' oil line that has a 'better reinforced rubber hose' and 'improved clamps'. Only time will tell though if it will really last. Apparently they are saying that the metal line will void warranty due to the fact that it can be damaged by vibration etc on the previous years' engines.
We'll see about that.
What changes did they make to the 2009 engine? If the new models come with the metal line I don't see why the older models aren't compatible.. They know the problem, yet they don't let us consumers do anything to fix it before it could seriously screw up our cars..
If you car was built after April 2008, it SHOULD have the all-metal line. My RAV4 has a build date of July 2008 and DOES have this new part. So any V6 built after that should be OK. I don't think any changes were made to the engine in 2009.
Sounds like mines got the rubber job on it aswell as it's a mid 2007 Build , its at Toyota tomorrow I will find out
-
This is crazy we buy a car like the Kluger and we have trouble in 2009 getting tyres for each of them (17" & 19") Let a lone at reasonable prices its a scam by the manufactures, they all do it, Nissan, Subaru its not just Toyota

I have connections! I actually saw a rubber one getting changed today, its a return line so its impossible doesn't have the same pressure in it as the front all metal one.
Any way there are worse things in life to worry about
