  1. petrol or deisel? mine used to do it it was the petty model with 22r in it turn out to be the timing wasnt quite right as well as the carby needed a kit thru it as well as tuning but as for as deisel model havent heard of anythin maybe the fuel cut off solenoid is playin up a bit
  2. yep good deal mate and it looks great i did the same cost a little more and i did it myself but still its done and i 100% happy with it i even take my to motox and i dont have a problem clearing crap there i reckon they look hot as after lowering good stuff enjoy
  3. u pay about $600 retail unless u know someone that can get it trade price
  4. At the end of the day if the rolling diameter of the tyre is the same as or close to the standard there is no way in this world should they hit any part of the car at all me personally have got 18's with 40 profile tyres and pedders lowered springs (they only make 1 set for the aurion) and under normal conditions i cannot get these to scrub ( not that i try lol) when i put on my 8x4 trailer, load my quad, ridin gear, 9 drawer tool box full of gear and various other **** i have to hit some bumps etc pretty hard/fast to make the rear scrub (yes the spring are stiffer ofcourse but still quite supple). I fitted the springs myself and when i got the tyres fitted got them to do a camber check front and rear then i took these readouts to toyota and ordered the factory eccentric bolts to suit, installed them which set the camber back to factory and still good to this day. If i was u id be gettin the camber checked, for the sake of changin rims $$$$$$ and see what the outcome is, theres to many people on here that have 18's, 19's and 20's with no problems even the offset, yes it will make a small difference but i wouldnt think that much considering u havent lowered it (i think). As a mechanic theres a simple rule "check the easy things first" and to me checkin the camber is probally the easiest with all these puters they use these days. Although ive got wheel spacers on my 4 wheel drives i wouldnt advise puttin them on your aurion to me it comes down to insurance my 4wd's cant be insured anyway there too over the top now anyway lol but my aurion is still mildly sane for now hope this sorta helps ya and dont wanna say anyone else is wrong (especially out the spacers i lovem lol) just thought u should consider it cheers
  5. i doubt the pooolice would even know what there lookin at or even bother gettin under the car lol. im goin to go straight to D&T and get mine down asap and just keep the cut out section as well
  6. Carribean Blue is sweet that with my 18'' chrome wheels just looks awesome i reckon but a little one sided as well lol
  7. ive lowered mine with pedders. obviously the rolling diameter is the same as the original tyre wheel combo? I got 18's with 40 profile tyres from memory and they dont rub when i turn or encounter the normal road bumps and turns etc ive got a towbar fitted as well to tow my quad bike and i did bout 2600kms with it and a heap of gear in the boot and on the back seat (she was chokas) and i had to hit some pretty extreme bumps at 120kmh to make the back end scrap in the guards but under normal conditions alls good. As far as speed humps go like any lowered car take them as u see them if u think u need to go on an angle do it to be safe i spose but the majority of the ones i come across in darwin are good to hit straight on I did come across one thing and thats when i went to take it over the rta here in nt (we gotta do it every time regos due) the front wouldnt clear their height rails on top of their service pit by about 15mm i fixed that pretty quick though went straight to the servo put 50 ponds in the front tyres and drop 10 outa the backs ( they clear good) result was it clear it by about 10mm so no defect notice LOL so i just do this everytime it goes over and alls good but overall id do it again but wouldnt go any lower and it feels really good to sit in to
  8. sure do in wa u cant have anything over a 2' body lift and 2'' in suspension lift and bout the same in tyre size then after that engineers all the way then they put a modified blue plate on the fire wall and somethin to say whats legal and not but just with that particular car with that suspension kit (ive got the exact same one) u need to make sure the steering is sorted i ended up putting the snake racing cross over steering kit on mine to make it more legit and not put so much stress on the standard flimsy j arms etc u prob know what to look for but just make sure theres no homemade stuff on there cause theres a sure chance they will knock it back as well as the tyres bein inside the guards atleast until u get it passed
  9. i did a vn v6 to a 90 single cab 4x4 lux with the th700 box behind it runnin 33's it went like a shower of **** was an easy conversion if u got mild mechanical knowledge and some electrical know how. the marks 4wd kit is way easy to understand and is good quality as well cost me bout $6000 to do,i did it myself the only thing i got done was the new engine mount welded to the chassis and the conversion to the box done as well but also didnt skimp on anything, hid as much wiring as i could just made it look neat and made sure it was done right the only thing i would do different is leave the manual in and go the later model manual ffrom behind 3.0td models but that needs a new gearbox crossmember to be made ( not that hard really) I rebuilt the auto prob 4 times in 2 years but i drive it hard bitumn and dirt with the 33's burnouts the lot and it overheated once so that didnt help the tranny oil. The other option i would go and am infact doing right now is putting the 1uz-fe alloy toyota/lexus v8 in ive mated mine to the 3.0td manual box got a dual bypass alloy radiator for it and spendin the coin on this one seen as its got insane horsepower in it. its a tight fit and i have only got 15mm between the rad and idler pulley on the engine and the engine is almost on the firewall (not sure how much bigger/smaller the engine bay in yours would be but the 4runner's have a heaps bigger engine bay u have to move engine forward to make it work). its a much more complex conversion noone does engine mounts for the 4x4 model yet and and at this stage havent come acrross anyone doing wiring harness conversions for them but thats not a big problem if u use an aftermarket ecu. i had to make a new crossmember for the box mainly cause i did a 2'' body lift and wanted to get the gearbox as high as possible it only has 30mm hanging below the chassis rail now then u got thing like driveshafts but if u r plannin to do the lift u might as well do it at the same time i could keep ritin for hrs on this haha but id do the 1uzfe anyday if ya need any info or pics give us a pm and ill send u what i got the cars about 4000ms away at the mo at me ma and pas house so havent seen it for bout 4 months but will help all i can.
  10. i dont even use it. i think i used it once or twice on a hill maybe but at the end of the day it doesnt faze me a bit
  11. i reckon its a good thing that u cant change down until the vehicle speed is slower can u imagine the damage that could happen if u managed to get it in to say 2nd out 3rd at like 4000rpm thered b a good chance those front shafts would destroy themselves in about .2secs. im gettin pretty used to shifting the tranny at the right revs just practise at the end of the day
  12. should be e "VSC" error(vehicle stability control ****). When i sent the car back long time ago, the person in toyota service(AL) keep on asking me, "Sir, did u do any modification?.. because this problem shouldnt be happening.." bla bla bla bla bla, continue on with tons of bullshxt! I believe is coz he saw my moded camry with bodykit, rim and stuff, and my aurion's sound system. BUT I FARKING DIDNT TOUCH THE SUSPENSION NOR ENGINE!! Tat farkin idiot!! This shxt happen like months ago, and i have been going back every now and then with the problem from steering wheel.(where they change the driving shaft, then steering oil, then oil pump, then whole steering... but fark it, nothing solve the problem) and this is wat tat AL in lane toyota said,"Oh, u gotta be the luckiest person, coz u are the only aurion owner to have these problem.." Then the centre CONSOLE start making noise, sent back again, this is what they "suggested" me, "DONT PUT TOO MUCH CD in the box(where u put your hand on, the one that can slide?)" Yea, there is no more than 20CDs and it ISNT EVEN FULL! and HOW HEAVY CAN CD BE??!! FARK U DUMB HEAD!!! But at least the centre console didnt squeek anymore.. With these problems, i cant mod my car since the 3rd week i had my aurion(tat is the time i started planning wat to mod ) BUT NOW! i dont dare, changed the pod, i will go back to him, will use all my rude words tat i can think of, to scold him, then swap to other toyota service branch. haha that toyota dealer sounds pretty useless yeah sorry it was the vsc error they asked me the same sorta questions i told them thousands of times it was afta the new wheels went on and it was wheel aligned apparntly its a sensor on the steering column they even rang the tyre shop were i just had my wheels fitted and asked if they had removed the steering wheel all they did is fit damn wheels and wheel align they arent that stupid to remove the steering wheel and adjust that to suit bloody idiots id be email/ritin to toyota australia direct and skin them and tellin them of the stupid things theve said and how long uve had to wait at least u REALLY did changed the wheels, AND I DIDNT EVEN TOUCH MY WHEELS YET!!! I bought mine months ago, and they are still sitting in my garage!! COZ??!! those farking dumb head cant fix my car and warn me that they wont fix it if i changed my wheels!! FUK THEM!!!!!!!!! man thats ****house id be goin to toyota and then another dealer and still be puttin the wheels on

  14. the error that u r having come up on your speedo is that the VSS one, if so i got rid of mine myself after lowering it, same thing though toyota had no idea there solution was to keep erasing the code from the ecu all i did is go thru a few roundabouts in a row in different sequences and then straight for bout 400m then another roundabout. i obviously jagged it but the code hasnt come back since and ive down bout another 8000kms now, id try somethin like that and see how u go
  15. Nice ride!, For lowering height? price? As for subs what are you running? cheers mate the lowered height is bout 1''3/4 and cost me just over $450 put them in myself with new camber bolts to sort that out the subs are a cheaper set cant remember of the top but they in a twin sub-box ill get a foto tonight got the amps screwed to the back of that one amp is a 4 channel to run the speakers and the other is to run the subs agin ill get some fotos for ya tonight but both amps r pioneer
  16. heres my ride 18's lowered pedders and subs in boot
  17. yeah thats what i pretty much figured so wasnt to concerned about the trailer/weight factor but i did even try and slip into squential mode and keep those revs around 2500 so it wasnt so loaded up. one thing i did find which is sort of obvious that when its on cruise control coming up a hill it wont backchange a gear until really low in the revs therefore when it does finally do it, it revs its guts out in the lower gear ,again this cant help so even started to drive it without cruise and again keep the revs the best i could i spose i just experiment a bit more with it and see but would be great to get some of these low fuel consumption figures (eg 8l/100km) like some of these fellas are gettin but i dont think i can see it possible whether i drive it like a nanna or drive it reasonably hard. but all things aside i love mine i goes hard and suprises alot of fellas at the lights and even on the highway ( i like how late the speed limiter is dunny doors and palcons cant keep up lol) all in all a great car next stop would be a trd one i reckon im actually thinkin if its got more to do with the accuracy of the digital display rather than a problem with the engine etc itself, seen as though it did read zero fuel and zero range for like 15km, i wouldve thought it be a little more accurate than that
  18. ive had my sx6 aurion since bout the 3rd of jan 08 and it was a demo with 4400 kms on it ive drove it from bunbury in wa to karratha in the wa pilbara with a 8x4 trailer and quad bike in it granted it was loaded etc but most of the 1700km trip it was only get just short of 400km per tank about 16l/100km and in some spots 18-19l/100km it never missed a beat the whole trip. yes i thought it was high considering the type of highway i was on and being in the middle of the night in the nice cool air so i decided to drive it from karratha to port hedland (unloaded no trailer etc) which is 230kms no stop straight nearly flat dessert road i managed to get it down to 9.8l/100km and thats the lowest ive seen it since then i have now driven the car to darwin from karratha which is bout 2700kms of the same near flat highway with trailer and bike in tow. i only drove in the daytime (cause of the massive size cows/bulls etc) which had temps of around 32 to 43 degrees on acouple of days and the economy was no better or worse from when i drove it from bunno to karratha in one spot (and i got photo evidence) i nearly ran outa fuel in a 270km stretch (yes it had one or 2 hills but stuff all) from kunnunara to timber creek the fuel gauge was well below empty and the digital display said i was out fuel range i then drove another 15kms b4 i got to the roadhouse and it took on 65l's to the top of the neck. u could say i was a little cautious after this. the whole time i did mainly 110 - 120 kmh cause of trailer. the car has just gone in for its 15000km service (yep done 10,000kms in a month) asked them to check for any probs on ecu etc, nothin wrong aparantly so if anyone can shed any light on my car that be great but as i say it runs/starts and stops perfectly fine havent had any probs yet
  19. ;) just a quick pic of my aurion best car ive ever owned i reckon and not hard to make it look even betta than it allready does ;) sorry for some reason pic wont load i try another day
  20. ive got a blue sx6 chrome 18's dumped big stereo but live in karratha lol but movin to darwin in bout 2 weeks
  21. ive put chrome 18's on mine and lowered it 1 3/4 on pedders springs was goin to 19's but they where goin to take 2 weeks from the east so i gave up on that cause i had to do a 1700km drive to get home depends what colour car u got but the aurions have that sexy bodty which any of the chromes or blacks would look good in mines that dark blue colour looks sic with chromeys on it
  22. ive lowered mine 1 3/4'' with pedders and put 18'' chrome rims from rjr racing on it 2 pioneer amps and a twin sub subbox in the boot
