  1. u can drive without ya bullbar no probs mate as long as there no brackets etc hanging of it that could "be of danger to pedestrians" done it heaps of times with my lux's and as far as repainting it i would powdercoat it black or somethin last a while is much cheaper and looks the goods
  2. if u get the thread pitch and diameter right all u gotta make sure is that it fits in the hole on the alloy wheel most of the time if u get the right thread etc it will fit into most alloy wheels stud hole
  3. i think they might even be a 12x1.25 pretty fine thread cause i couldnt wind them on my trailer with a ford hub
  4. yeah man way to much i got my springs and camber bolts for $450 but i installed it all myself it only took bout 1 1/2 hrs to do but pedders back home only quoted me $600 for them to supply and do it
  5. it used to funny doin it my commo powered one especially when in the wet it would smoke the wheels for about 15m's and stile beat them haha hmmmm wonder if the v8 will do it in the dry only one way to find out
  6. mate u reckon shes got good handling with the standard wheels u wanna get yaself a wider lower profile setup i had to run my standard wheels for a bit until i could afford new ones and it was like a boat compared to the 18'' setup i just got the new tyres the other day and slammed them back on the car and u buety shes on rails again
  7. sleeper for sure who would think a hilux with 10'' lift could blow away some couch racers in there street cars lol
  8. i got pedders in mine with 18's and rubber is 235/40/18 which i had fitted bout a week ago i also had the camber and toe checked all round which was out on the rear and front and it only got done about 3 months ago thru ozzy tyres when i had this done my tyres which were 235/35/18 were half worn and in 3 months they were flogged to the point were canvas was thru one rear across the whole tyre so i aint go back there again but besides that the new tyres arent scrubbing and thats with a trailer on with my quad aboard also take a few adults into town from time to time and it dont scrub anymore probally due to the camber/toe being set right now. i feel that for me the springs arent to soft and soak up the general road bumps etc pretty good and it also sits pretty level too. all up mine sits 42mm lower than standard with the standard wheel tyre combo and thats with 20,000kms on the springs cant say what kings are like havent had them in any off my cars but im not complaining for a $600 cost p.s. standard shocks as well
  9. nah mate too loud for piggin and besides i like havin my foot hard on it too much, scare them away lol

  13. "But if your mainly worried about the rims, just get a set of locking nuts for them. Should keep you safe in nearly all cases." I dont even bother with locknuts these days my ex missus's car had just a set of cheap wheels on it (they were on a kia rio) with locknuts we went to the movies one night when we came out same thing had happened with the security guy he had told us that a dude was gettin into her wheels looked around all the locknuts were missing (1 on each wheel) and one frontwheel was miss 2 others lucky we didnt drive it cause it only had one left holding it on. but as far as ya alarm system goes me personally would be very cautious of using an aftermarket one on the aurion no. 1 cause the standard on eis quite good and no.2 cause of the what if factor like what if it does somethin to the car or what if it fails at all. are u able to mount a sensored flood light on ya house near ya car and possibly ya bedroom window at least when that comes on u will wake up haha

hey mate to be honest with ya by the time u do all the stuffin around with matchin a carby up and if possible a head and depending how far u wanna go maybe a turbo setup or somethin u'll prob save more time and money and do a conversion with maybe a sr20 or a late model comm v6 or my favorite the 1uz-fe toyota v8 at the end of te day these would prob prove ore reliable and fuel efficiant and be able to handle buckets of power at a later date. try this forum mate and check out a few of the v8 conversions on the 2wd luxes everthing is pretty much bolt in now to easy of a job http://lextreme.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=3 cheers stewy

  22. or like mine just missin the forced induction or like this 1uz-fe
  23. i have yet to do a manual calculation but when i fill my tank i fill it right to the top at the cap yes i know it has a overfull pipe etc etc but my thought is if i fill it like this evertime it has to be spilling the close to the same amount out everytime aswell. so i just did a trip on the weekend to katherine nt from darwin nt. Distance oneway - 315kms Time of day - 8pm till 11pm Temp - 23 degrees (according to car outside temp gauge which i know is close to being right) Speed- Between 100 - 120km/h Terrain - Rolling hills Driving Habit - Easy on throttle, no sudden braking (luckily some big cows up here) Load - 1x 6x4 quad trailer with one quad approx combined weight of 900kgs, Boot fully loaded with gear bags x2 (had to slam boot lid), back seat fully with 1x child and ther bike gear plus 1x driver and passenger. Started off with a fuel reading from the display with 13.3l/100km by the time i had reached katherine had gone down to 10.7/100km did not once climb up in reading always going down. On the way home. Distance oneway - 315kms Time of day - 1:30pm - 4:45pm Temp - Started at 40 degrees and went down to 35 halfway home Speed- Between 100 - 120km/h Terrain - Rolling hills Driving Habit - Easy on throttle, no sudden braking Load - 1x 6x4 quad trailer with 2 quads one approx 160kgs and other approx 40kgs (kids quad) combined weight of 950kgs, Boot fully loaded with gearbags x2 (had to slam boot lid), back seat fully with 1x child and ther bike gear plus 1x driver and passenger. Stated off with a fuel reading from the display again with 13.8l/100km by the time i reached darwin had gone down too 10.5l/100km again did not once climb up in gfuel readings. so result is i was expecting the heat to play a part in fuel consumption but it didnt seem to bother it and air con was on middle settings on the way down and flat out all the way home again didnt seem to affect it to much i know its not a manual calculation but i believe its still reasonably accurate but next time will test properly. also on the note of distance to empty for when the fuel light comes on i drove a further 95kms b4 it stopped after eading 0 kms to empty and fuel light on again towing the same trailer and load thats my two bobs for a while
  24. mines on 18's and i think it looks sweet lol and she's lowered
  25. well the missus just seen FUEL MISER'S 5.3l/100km reading best she's done is 7.7l so she reckons shes gonna beat it, somehow i think she'll fail if i sneak in a give it too it for 2 secs :D :D :D :D :D
