  1. lookin at the pics on the website of it im just gonna make it myself prob outa nice shiny staino tube then just get a good filter, cant be that hard buy some bends wled them together a couple holes etc for vacunm lines etc waala done i hope :D :D :D :D :D :D im also gonna have a go at fabricating the radiator shroud outa ally sheetmetal shouldn be to hard and plan to leave it that brushed alloy look
  2. yep these guys are the go i got a heap of my fourby gear there when i was in wa the spring guy even told me which leaves to pull out if i wanted it to flex a little more and generally just give me heaps of tips reguarding suspension mods. these guys def know what they talkin about
  3. put a multimeter on the alternator if thats pushin out between 13.2v to 14.4v it will be good then check battery the same way or load test it, batterys these crap themselves at the drop of a hat. but check the fuses again and behind the glovebox prob with a test light to both sides cause from what ive learned and seen sometimes a fuse will blow but it'll be at the edge were u cant really see especially if the lighting is crap.
  4. easy mate instead of earthing 85 to chassis put it on the switch then done to earth from other side of switch. u wont be able to hook all spotties into the one switch cause of the amps it draws u can get away with one switch runnin 4 100 watt lights but thats max have a look in the wiring help topic thats a few threads down i cant figure out how to copy the link for ya but i put a wiring diagram in there a while ago for spotties
  5. hook it straight into the coil packs if its efi and dizzy if its non efi best bet would be to get a manual and look at colours cause they change in year models etc or go to an auto lecky and ask them hook up ya spotties the same as u do on the bullbar mate and run ya wiring down the tray then into the bung in the bac of the cab on the drivers side or along the chassis rail into the engine bay then the rest is the same
  6. if ya put it thru a sheetmetal roller it will give it some strength (i know this caus ethis is what i do for a living) and dont use the supercheap crap either, either get some staino mesh or some ally mesh and paint it or leave it. as far as fixing i havent looked at mine but if u go to a plastic welder and get him to weld tags onto the back of the bumper then put some bumper clips or similiar in to hold it p.s. make sure u put the badge back on itll look to plain i reckon u should leave the badge off... it looks good without it.. u can have a look at my profile photo.. now i looked at yours it does look pretty good might be cause the other fotos been fotoshoped

  8. haha nup they stay on the side off the road blinded by the lights lol just so u know they are 6 lightforce 240 blitz with 120w globes instead of the 100watters and the headlights are 100w highbeam 60w lowbeam running with a pirahna headlight loom upgrade kit the 4 on the roof are pencil beam setup and the 2 with the blue covers are 50/50 filter, spread beam in the centre and clear round the edges with all lights on high beam, on a straight bit off dual carraige way in wa i pinpointed a tree on the edge of the road that i could see with my own eyes and drove up to it with the gps on and it said 625m just the ticket for those hpping road warriors :D :D :D :D :D
  9. damn 9 grand like u say good thing u aint payin :D :D :D i nearly smashed into a vp commodore today out near the robo barracks the tool just pulled straight out in front me while i was turnin def felt the abs do its thing anyway
  10. rodney jane racing, storm in chrome not the most expensive on the market but who cares when it turns me on every morning i see it B) B) B) B) B) B)
  11. yeah u could say it was a quick foto so i could grab the steering wheel again lol but ive gone faster i did 240 b4 the cruise cut out then i reckon bout another 10km/h after that but that coulda been out with the wheels etc but it was extremely stable i reckon well to be confident enough to take a pic anyway mines lowered and wider tyres so that helps but id do it again many times it felt that good then again i came from driven 10'' lifted hiluxes to a 1/34'' lowered aurion so stabilty was formula one i reckon lol
  12. unless your faced with my 4wd :D :D :D :D :D :D
  13. this is what my missus manged to get travellin around darwin city on a normal days driving, im stuffed if i can get les than 11l/100km but then again i drive it a little harshly :D :D :D :D i thought this was pretty good fuel economy considering
  14. get ya mesh and ya car without the plastic shroud on and take it to a sheetmetal shop they have rollers that curve sheetmetal to any curve u need it will take about 2 secs literally to do that one its not much of a curve
  15. dont do it i just changed my standard mufflers with sports stainless steel jobs and took out the resonator thingy behind the last cat and mines got a bit of not right thru the rev range and is not drony due to the staino mufflers. basically has same style of tips as standard mufflers but next size up an looks sweet..... I reckon lol
  16. the way i see it if they didnt need to be put in why do pedders make them to fit the only spring they make to fit the aurion and the holdens have many different spring sizes/lengths and different suspension type so they might not need them, all i know is they are made for the aurion and my camber was outa factory specs so these were installed to correct that and to save the all important tyre aswell
  17. i reckon the tc works well myself. i went to a gravel area and tried to throw the car sideways at 60km/h the tc kick in and pretty much pulled the car straight again i reckon it slide about 3 or 4m b4 u could really feel it doin its thing the next shot i did it at 80km/h and it did exactly the same thing but with prob about another 1m of slide b4 u could feel it do its thing But i wouldnt mind givin this tc turn off thing ago see how good the tyres could fry :D :D :D :D :D :D
  18. wat price did u pay for it? then you probably know if the camber pin are put on.. Reading to v8toy said, if this is true, then any car that has been lowered, has to put on camber pin to adjust the suspension's camber setting.. But at the second part of wat he said, if a stupid enouf person "forgot" or "didnt know" they have to adjust/check the camber pin while doing wheel alignment, then it would be dangerous and deadly..? <_< yes by rights u do need them every time u lower a car or lift as well but with some cars or models u can get away by adjusting the originals (some manufacturers fir essentric ones) and it also depends on how much u lower them by too yeah first i noticed that there was a slight knock when i turned and drove out of our underground carpark which has an incline so it was loaded up on that wheel quite heavily. so i took it to work and took the wheel of and checked it and could see it had been turning also they had installed this one the wrong way round which was letting the end of the bolt touch the brake line. so without hesitation i went a bought a new one and took it to ozzy tyres (they didnt do the job originally) here in darwin and had it fitted and camber checked at the same time the wheel guy just laughed when he seen it but i wouldnt have been laughing if i had have crashed and killed my gf or daughter or someone else. Moto too this little story is i do all my own mechanical work myself now servicing and all except for when it needs wheel alignment etc and im there when they do that im just lucky im a mechanic by trade and can sign of the log books myself for warranty purposes
  19. As u lower your car or your suspension compresses the camber of the wheel changes which is fine with standard springs to the camber settings for like 1/2 a sec at a time (which is all it takes for suspension movement) but when its lowered the suspension stays at that lowered setting therefore changing the camber and changing it from factory specs which creates a chain reaction meaning it affects camber, steering response, tyre wear and many other factors. with the pins fitted u are able to readjusted the wheels camber back to factory specs at the lowered setting. the pns are in stalled on the bolt holeof the spring/shock strut and are an eccentric type bolt, when the bolt is rotated the wheels moves in and out changing the setting i hope u understand what i mean it's sorta hard to explain simply but i know what im talkin about :D :D :D :D at the end of the day i personally think it essential to have them fitted for the tyre wear factor (depending how low u go ofcourse) and to try and prevent the wheels from touching the guards on suspension compression. Beware though camber bolts can by rights only be tensioned once but u can get away with 2 or 3 times they are just like cylinder head bolts which are pre tensioned. the pedders camber bolts from memory have to be tightened to 120ft/lbs and they are pretty pricy at $60 per bolt or $120 a pair i know this cause when i had my camber and wheel alignment done after lowering it the tyre shop didnt tighten the left front up enough it worked loose and gave me 3 degrees camber and chopped out my tyre b4 i knew it which also flogged out the bolt could have snapped and caused an accident i guess i caught it in time
  20. man thats burnt i did mine for 600 with me gettin the springs at trade price so id expect to be payin 700 to 800 otherwise and yes the camber pins for mine were nessecary which im guessin would be the same for most aurions
  21. would this possibly be the same for the acr30's (2001) models cause i see they have a fuse box in the drivers kick panel
  22. go blue mate im biased but mine looks the ***** :D :D :D
  23. mine did too u wanna hear it with the v6 and sports system earplug territory that one used to drive the missus mad lol the best thing u could do is just head to a good diff joint and ask them cause usally id go the other why and make mine scream more lol but thats for offroad work
  24. i think from memory the vx cruisers came out with a auto only if this is the case it should have a plug in the gearboxes sump which is actually a level check plug (yeah it sounds stupid so heres a pic) http://www.lcool.org/technical/100_series/..._fluid/auto.htm if its a manual its got a level plug usally about halfway up the gearbox and used to take a 24mm spanner but prob has changed
