  1. Yeah, the method that Boof suggested is the only way you can check without calling a service department. Most rental cars you will find won't have the Toyota Advantage service offer as they have their own service department.
  2. When I was driving to work today, I was behind a Landcruiser with the plates 'SMILES'. I thought to myself, okay... whatever. Then on my way home I am sitting behind an Aston Martin DB9. Underneath the plates it has a company name decal of 'Chris Hall Photography', but what I found funny were the plates. His plates said 'SMILE5'. Well I found it funny anyways; the fact that a Landcruiser got the plates this expensive DB9 clearly couldn't get.
  3. Damn I chose the worst time to wash my car. The air was fine outside so I washed it then dried it. After it was all nice and clean, it decided to rain. On the bright side, it should be dry enough for the loop tonight, just the Cootha run may have a little obstacle. Edit: I guess I was wrong. This rain is persistent.
  4. What hill were you going down? . . . LOL, jokes man. . . . Seriously though; which hill?
  5. I can't help but laugh at the idea.
  6. I'll be out as well. I'm always up for a drive. I don't know how many more times I can take Nebo or any other hard run for that matter. I have this constant reminder in the back of my head telling me to take it easy on my tires. But hey, I can easily ignore that little voice.
  7. I have gone through the service manual quite a while back and from my own memory, I don't recall reading anything about that box. I figured that if there is no explanation of it in the Electrical Wiring Diagram, then it isn't going to be anywhere in the manuals. There was no mention of Toyota Link or anything like that throughout the manuals. Just one more reason to suspect Toyota Link. This is from my own memory though. It is possible I skipped over something. I have been able to remember quite a bit from the manuals though.
  8. I can't believe people sell crap like this. What I don't believe more are the people that actually fall for it and buy it. I would imagine it charging your engine... with the pieces of badly assembled aluminium that break off when this thing has air rushing past it.
  9. Things start to change a little when you go for 20 inch rims which is what Rowan and her are looking at.
  10. Sorry. I didn't mean to be rude... well maybe a little. Unfortunately someone just got caught in my firing line of anger. The inevitable is happening and our once relatively clean Aurion forum is starting to fill with repeat posts and random mess. It was holding up quite well for a while I must say. Maybe I'm just too picky.
  11. You really puzzle me man. You need to learn how to perform searches for yourself, both here and away from the forums. All you need to do with this one is do a Google Image search. Then you will see the Camry spoiler looks like this: I'm not even going to bother with the Aurion spoiler. I don't mean to be rude, but it doesn't take a genius to do a search.
  12. If you want to remove it properly, refer to the following service manual: http://www.camrystuff.com/manuals/Gen6/2GR-FE/Interior.pdf Page 22 onwards describes the process. Definitely not for the faint hearted.
  13. I won't forget ya... after feeling what it's like missing out on the group buy. <stares at Rowan & Elgin>
  14. The skirts just attach over the bumpers. You will however need to make some holes on the bumpers so the skirts will stay on. I would assume that in the factory they either have the bumpers with them already on there, or they have the appropriate tools to do it with ease. You just need to find the skirts, that's all.

    MSN?

All these threads that I just look at but not contribute. Since we have some extra activity I guess I'll join in. My MSN is: msn@djkor.com MSN only. Emails get deleted. Edit: I should probably add that I don't go on MSN often. I usually just go on my PC, stop over at the forums then leave. My laptop would be all packed up if it weren't for this forum.
  16. This thread seems to be getting a bit of activity. I guess I will make my contribution. My name is Daryl. I'm 21, male, and still single. Seeking partner. Must not hate fast driving. http://djkor.com is a reflection of my lack of creativity.
  17. Mine creaks as well when I do that. It's useful though to target where the creaks are coming from. I am yet to fix it. I have all the stuff required to do so; just not the time/patience. I just turn my music up louder.
  18. If the US dollar was still good and you were after a unit on a real tight budget, that unit would be value. You get what you pay for though, but if your just after the basic functions of such a unit, you can't go wrong really. Just don't expect too much out of it. At least it looks fairly decent and its GUI ain't so bad. LOL, you definitely notice a budget unit when the mode for the rear-view camera is labelled 'Back Sight'.
  19. Was this the car only recently started after say, an overnight period? When a car is parked outside overnight, moisture and condensation can build up in the exhaust and when it heats up, that 'white smoke' you see is actually steam. Perfectly normal in that case. One way to tell it's really steam is to place your hand near the exhaust and you can usually feel the moisture on your hand.
  20. Yeah, sounds like your rotors need machining. My rotors need it as well as I've noticed braking from above 150km/h (don't ask) sends vibration through the steering wheel. Heavy braking below that also does the same. Here we have mobile disc machining so I think when I next get the chance, I'll get mine done. Something like $30 per disc. Under normal driving conditions, this isn't something that would happen that soon, but there are so many variables that can affect that. Rapid cooling of the rotors can cause that, such as getting them wet while they are hot. I think the one cause for mine was because of our stupid water restrictions, I use a self-serve car wash. As a result, when I was my car, my discs are usually hot. The water from the pressure hose ultimately ends up spraying the discs which cause them to cool rapidly. I was my car at least once a week, so it all added up I guess.
  21. I haven't come across any issues yet with my iGO8 running the V14 (R14) Whereis maps. If it did stuff up though (nothing serious like on the other side of town), I guess I would just appreciate the fact that it was able to at least get me towards where I needed to go. When you think about it, there is a lot of road in there that needs to be mapped. I just find it quite impressive how it can navigate you to destinations with barely any problems (in most cases).
  22. Just gotta let the electronics do the work for you. You'll get used to it over time. At least the drive is really smooth.
  23. DJKOR should step in right about now, Im in WA but know they have Thurs meets every now & again... Damn. I'm at work from 2:30pm-7:30pm and I miss out on all the action. Firstly welcome 'sportivo chick', I'm Daryl, or DJKOR as I'm known around here. I'm always here (together with everyone else) to help with any questions or issues you may have. I'm fairly addicted to this forum and is about the only thing I use my computer for. Don't forget to introduce yourself in the 'Statistics of Aurion drivers' thread. It would be great to see you out at the weekly meets. Check out the thread 'Brisbane Meetup (Every Thursday 9pm)'. We only have similar ideas because there is not much available in the aftermarket for these cars. No one is willing to put the money down yet to go really custom as well. I'm still working on ideas to keep my different from the rest.
  24. Well, when you pull the plate off, there is not enough room as it is to fit a single DIN unit in. You would need to file away at the surrounding plastic, and one you did that, a single DIN should fit. I am fairly sure (I'll double check that one) that there is enough depth behind to accommodate one, the only problem is, there is no points to securely mount a unit. I will BRB with a couple of photos. Edit: A couple of photos for an example but here is my final verdict. There is enough depth there to fit something the length of a single DIN unit (the plastic bar in the first photo can be removed), however there is not enough horizontal space to accommodate the unit. You can squeeze it in, but there will be a little bit of a bulge where the 'map' pockets (as Toyota calls them) are. The second photo is a bit of an illusion. I would say the difference in width is only about 0.5cm each side. Then on the front fascia, it would be a really tight fit as well and would require a bit of work to neaten it up. My suggestion is don't bother unless you have the patience and skill for custom work. The spot is best suited for a Scan Gauge or something like apg39 suggested.
  25. Ouch. When you said you got those 'Pace' tires, I expected you got them at a cheap price. I didn't expect $170 each. Even those Bob Jane Xenon Z7's you were considering are $149 a piece. For that $170 (or just a little bit more), you could have got yourself some Potenza Adrenalins (sorry, these are my first decent set of tires and I kind of swear by them now). After driving on budget tires before, all I can say is to NEVER go cheap quality on your tires. When those four tires are responsible for keeping you car attached to the road, you don't want them to be doing a bad job of it. It always pays to research.
