  1. I paid $2295 as a once-off plate fee to keep my plates for life. Yes it was expensive and yes it does expose me that little bit more, but I am satisfied with them. All personal preference really.
  2. I'm thinking the same as you man. That last Boost Cruise wasted a large amount of fuel. I think I would be pushing it as well with Thursday night plus I have to drive to Noosa on the weekend.
  3. Rowan: I was considering going tonight. So I can join you. I just feel way out of place now. Elgin: I have a spare front seat for Thursday if you're willing.
  4. Rowan ain't joking. Fuming would be around the best word to describe many of the feelings running through my head. I really need a good comeback now. Oh yeah, loving the 20's as well Ash. Just makes the 19's seem basic in comparison.
  5. Well, make sure you give it a good thrashing then. Careful not the break it though. Not sure about them Hyundai's. I was under the assumption that this was for Thursday night.
  6. I'm sure I saw that one pass by me on Elizabeth Street today around 2pm or there abouts. The thing that got my attention was the cannon. I thought to myself 'I hope that guy ain't from around here'.
  7. Is there something we don't know about you Rowan???
  8. That's all good. With his new flashy rims, he would be at home with the others. I can't wait till Thursday now. Would be good to cruise the city again.
  9. What kind of luck? Luck as in 'good luck and hope you don't get too carried away with the partying and the boozing'? LOL.
  10. Sounds good to me. Always up for that. I guess it was just meant to be.
  11. Yeah, go for the automotive black silicone (gasket silicone). That stuff sticks pretty good. Just make sure you don't make a mess with it.
  12. The 'Check VSC System' warning will come up at any time a check engine light comes on. Mine did it when I accidentally started my car with the MAF sensor unplugged. About 5 metres of driving and the VSC warning came up. Some people have reported that by having a loose petrol tank cap, you can trigger the same response. I don't know why it would do that, but it is certainly more intrusive than the lone check engine light. Maybe Toyota figured that if the 'Chack VSC System' warning flashed up, people would be more likely to get it to Toyota ASAP as it is a safety feature giving a malfunction warning.
  13. Would definitley need to be a little bit of a custom job. Because the rear brake lights are LED and don't need replacing, the spoiler-less Aurion's have the third brake light moulded into the parcel shelf for that clean look.
  14. Of course you are going to have some repeats of threads, but it all comes down to the organisation of the forum and who uses it. This Aurion forum has remained pretty tidy over the few years or so that it has been active. If you spend time on Toyota Nation, you will see the result of disorganisation. I don't mean to make it personal, but I've had a long day and when I see someone ask a question on something that I could get from a search alone (including a Google Image search) not twice, but three times even more, I tend to get a little agitated. On a side note, I did a search with the term 'hood scoop' and that directed me where I need to go. I guess everyone has different ways of researching. The search doesn't always bring up a thread title containing what you're after, but it's results mean they are contained in the thread.
  15. apg39 has already considered this some time ago. It's amazing how the search feature works. Really saves on excess threads. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...showtopic=17348
  16. Do a search on eBay. I've seen them on there for around $400 each.
  17. I can't help on the iPod issue. I refuse to buy Apple, so I've never really used the iPod cable. As for the TV reception, it definitely is a bit iffy sometimes. I could barely get reception and this was on my driveway with a clear direct line-of-sight view with the transmission towers. An aftermarket antenna may provide better results. This head unit will install on any grade of Aurion, as well as any grade of the current generation Camry's. The unit is touch screen and yes the radio (or whatever was playing) will cut out when a call is received or started. The audio is routed through all speakers.
  18. That whine is sex. Way better than a turbo spool IMO.
  19. They are purely for looks only. They emit nowhere near the amount of light required to illuminate the road. I'm sure a Maglite strapped to your car will give better illumination.
  20. I'm not sure if anyone here has removed their spoiler yet. Well, I haven't heard of it happening yet anyways. Removing the spoiler will be relatively easy as you just need to take the lining off the inside of the boot lid, loosen a few nuts that hold the spoiler in, then pull the spoiler off. Then you have the fun task of filling in the holes that you now have in the lid of your boot, then getting it pained and blended in. But a Sportivo without a spoiler? I reckon it would look a little bit too odd. You would at least want a duck tail to create balance in combination with the rear skirt. Edit: On closer inspection, the spoiler is held in by 1 nut on each side, and one plastic clip. This will mean you will have a total of five holes to patch on your boot lid. And on the left hand side here, you can see the size of the hole for the cable loom:
  21. Loving your mountings and wiring. That's some creativity there. Hehehe. As long as it works; it'll do.
  22. Around early September 2008, Toyota dropped the Aurora Gold and the Caribbean Blue entirely from their colour range. With this though, they introduced a new 'Reef' colour. Those changes in the colours make those colour Sportivo's a little more rare. The Wildfire Sportivo's are even more rare as that colour was dropped from the Sportivo line at the beginning of the year. Unfortunately though they shifted it so that you can still get the Wildfire, just on the AT-X and Prodigy. I feel less special now.
  23. Yeah. The cheap USB ones can be a bit iffy. I pugged mine in didn't get any decent reception. I moved the antenna to my window sill and still got nothing. From my window, you can see the TV transmission towers as they are directly 9.6km away line-of-sight with nothing in the way. Tried rabbit ears as well and got a really choppy image. My conclusion was that the USB stick was crap as reception shouldn't be a problem.
  24. Mmmm. Now the temptation really kicks in. Good effort with trying them out for the others here. I will add you to the FAQ.
  25. If the problem only occurred recently and your player had no issue playing the discs before, provided they are not scratched badly, try getting a head cleaner disc. My CD/DVD drive on my head unit was playing up only just yesterday. Since I rarely swap discs on my player, I ruled out a scratched disc issue, so I put a head cleaner disc in and 1 minute later it was playing my disc again.
