I have seen them at many different stores. They certainly aren't a rare item. Seen them an Autobarn, Super Cheap, Repco, and even Kmart.

I will be starting a new job next year but I will make sure that before I do, I will tell them that I will need time off around those dates. I will make sure I can get this time off next year. In that case, I will more than likely be driving down there as I would like to give my Aurion a good long trip.

Very descriptive post there Stealth. Pretty much sums up what you need to know. The compression of the engine is fixed so as long as you are using at least the minimum octane fuel required, you should have no issues. If you run premium, the engine may intake a little more fuel, but it wouldn't be much (hence why it's only a 4kW increase) and this usually only occurs at high RPM. As you know the Aurion produces maximum power at about 6200RPM which at this point it would be taking in close to its maximum amount of fuel. So when cruising around normally, the difference between normal unleaded and premium shouldn't make much of a difference. On the whole 95 or 98 issue though, the way I see it as well is that if the TRD needs 98 minimum and that has forced induction to produce an extra 41kW of power, I'm pretty sure that the N/A Aurion will not take in anywhere near enough fuel to justify going above 95 RON. Don't quote me, but I think I remember hearing as well that there were some tests done and it was found that fuels regardless of their octane rating all contained similar amounts of cleaning detergents making it less beneficial to go for a higher octane fuel. It's all a peace of mind thing I guess. Kinda how people purchase bottled spring water with the assumption that it is clean and pure, even if it may just be highly filtered.

Yeah, well I wasn't talking long term. Something to experience I guess. But yeah, got over that excitement fairly quick after the last girl was a bit of a nympho. Got to the point where the day she moved interstate, I was happier than before.

That would be 'Goodwill & Tommy Trash - It's a Swede Thing [TT Electro Mix]'. I can even remember that it is the last track on the first disc of Ministry of Sound - Electro House Sessions. I swear I know the order of all these commercial mixes. That pricing sounds about right. Everyone else will need to confirm that. Not bragging or anything but mine was a 21st birthday present which all my close friends chipped into. The display button (and all other steering wheel buttons for that matter) work with this head unit. The display button not working issue is common with the aftermarket head units that do not have the same OEM fit as the stock head unit. Some aftermarket head units though come with the appropriate adapters to make it all work, but that's subject to the manufacturer.

It doesn't look like you put the A/C vent assembly back properly. Pull it out again then as you push it back, apply pressure downwards (best use your thumb pushing against the small area below the hazard light button) so the bottom edge is tight against the head unit. Then push the whole assembly back into its spot and it should sit tight against the head unit. Apart from that, looking good. As well, while on topic, here are a few of videos I did earlier for the Toyota Nation forum to demonstrate the unit and iGO8. Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load! Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load! This one was to demonstrate that it can be used while driving: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!Edit: You so did not see the GPS saying I was going 89km/h in that uphill 60km/h zone. Lies I tell you.

Thanks. Good to see that my help is appreciated. I don't really think my knowledge is that great, but if you say so. The latest photos are at the end of this thread. There is only a few there. I will load everything up later and post the link in that thread. In the meantime, I need some sleep. As for the mags; on a tight student budget right now. Once I finish my course and pull in the big dollars, then I will change my rims. When are you going for the TRD blower? You know who you're coming to see when you're ready :) Death stares Soloman. j/k. Anyways, I finish TAFE in December, after which I plan to work with my last employer until I get another job related to my study. My old employer pays REALLY good so I should have enough money to get my exhaust fixed up around February. I've got a big rework planned for that exhaust. At least the exhaust will be prepared for when I eventually s/c it.

Man, what's with all this dating complaints and emo crap floating around the club lounge? Seriously, there are other places to go for this kind of stuff. It's like the forum is becoming less masculine. Now I in no way meant that offensively, but really it is estimated that more than 3/4 of this forum are guys and being the forum that it is, that would just be the direction the forum is weighted. Anyways, couldn't be bothered to read through it but I gather that the OP is really interested in a girl who has gone over the 'let's just be friends' talk right? In that case, all I have to say is move on. That one statement is pretty much an irreversible NO. The more you keep trying with this scenario, the worse you will make yourself feel, and the more someone else is going to have to put up with it. As well, you're probably going to end up pushing her away if you continue with your attempts to make it work. And like the other guys said, just find someone else who is willing to mess around. Your young; feel free to have a little fun. Friend's with benefits... no strings attached and no mucking around with the lovey-dovey crap.

Well said. It's seems like as each generation goes on, teens are softening up. And what was all this crap about not being allowed to smack your kids if they misbehave? I had to suffer from getting the belt as a kid if I was misbehaving. Gotta raise them tough.

I think I better post now because once there is at least 2 more posts, I would be stuffed. Man this is rough. I wouldn't say my life is better than your man. I think the way it all comes down, how you enjoy your life. Anyways, I reckon my life is great because: I'm 21, in a secure job with the ability of fall back onto another employer and am really hard working. I drive 204kW of Toyota V6. I manage to wing things pretty easily (LOL, I think I've got some reputation going on in the Aurion forum). I have some of the most loyal friends that a person could have, and I am always focused on helping others more than helping myself.

For the TV, (when in TV mode) tap the screen to enter the menu. If you are already getting picture ignore the first step: 1) Tap SYS until 'PAL I' is displayed: 2) Then tap 'AUDI' until it says 'PAL BG': Lucky that you can get reception. I am located 10km line of sight to our broadcast towers at Mt. Coot-tha and have a crystal clear view of it. My reception is all fuzzy at it's best. Well that's keeping the antenna within a position suitable for use in the car. I had my antenna sitting on the rear parcel shelf with it forming a horizontal 'V'. I figured that I will never use it anyways, so I took it out the other day. P.S. I see you are using ImageShack there. Was that image meant to be that size? When you click on the little 'i' to bring up the information, use the link that is listed under thumbnail size for Forums (shown in my attached screenshot). Also, when you upload, make sure that 'resize' is not selected.

Whoa. That was some mental overload for my simple mind. I think my brain just fried. Anyways, with this fuel discussion (argument is more fitting but carries a negative meaning) I think the best way to answer it is that there is no one best answer. I think that everyone is going to find different results with different fuels. A lot of it may account to the placebo effect, or it may not. I can't answer for this as a definite as there is no conclusive answer. To find out for real which fuel would be the most optimum, the testing procedure would be impossible to perform accurately. Everyone has different driving styles, and it may even turn out that one fuel may be suitable for a particular style, but not for another. The best way to answer this question I guess is to try the different fuels out for yourself, and whatever you find 'feels' the best; stick with it. As I've mentioned, I personally go for 95 RON. This is not because I feel that I get better economy or more power, but because to me it feels healthier for my car. There is no evidence to back up my opinion, I just feel more comfortable using 95, and my wallet feels happier by not spending extra on 98.

That looks sweet as... really works well with the blue. This is pretty cool. We are starting to establish samples for the grill on different colour Stivo's. You have BLCKLABEL, spags, Snoochem, and JIN with the black, argie and apg39 with the silver, myself with the red, sera709 with the orange, and now eSEXSIX with blue. Hopefully I didn't miss anyone. That's quite a lot of Stivo's with a change of front grill. BONDIE is still sitting pretty good there standing out from the crowd with his smooth-as Aurion with chrome grill.
-
Now you just need to do some comparative tests with 91 regular unleaded and 85 premium unleaded. You need to keep track of it with receipts as well to get a more accurate figure.
-
With all this talk about the differences between 95 RON and and 98 RON, I personally doubt that it will make any difference in our Aurion without a supercharger. The whole octane thing is to give an identifier of how much the fuel can be compressed before it spontaneously ignites. The lower the octane, the less fuel that can be compressed. For a car with forced induction, the higher octane fuels are really needed here because an increase in air intake equals an increase in fuel intake. With the Aurion, the difference in power between unleaded and premium unleaded could be understandable since the fuel injection system may pick up on the fact that there is premium in the tank (through the use of knock sensors and whatnot) and be able to increase fuel delivery. I extremely doubt that the fuel injection system would inject any more fuel however when running 98 RON than running 95 RON as you would need an increase in air intake to match. As well, I believe that all this talk about 98 cleaning your engine better than 95 is all a load of marketing hype. Either way, I'm going to continue with using 95 RON. If you want to use 98 RON for piece of mind, then that would be your choice. I just don't like hearing it when people say that they are getting more power or better fuel economy when using 98 over 95 without giving substantial evidence to back it up. Sorry if this sounded like the start to some argument. It's been a long day and I can't word it any different right now.

I'm guessing you only noticed the obvious one at the top (circled in first photo). If you look lower next to the high beam bulb cover you will see another adjustment screw (circled in second photo). I don't know which one is horizontal and which one is vertical. I'm guessing the top one is horizontal judging by the fact that you didn't really notice any difference. I'm not going to test it either sorry. I find headlight aiming a real nuisance, and the factory aim is always just so perfect and I'd hate to ruin it. Also, the headlight assembly is both joint on the low beam and high beam so if your low beams are aimed correctly, your high beams should be as well. On a side note: The final turn of the aiming screw should be made in the clockwise direction. This is to keep the aiming mechanism tight and reduce the chance of vibration causing it to come out of alignment.

I don't think there is a DIY floating around (from what I can remember anyways), but these instructions here should help get you started: How do you remove factory audio unit?. Once the stereo is out, it should kind of explain itself.

*Latest photos located below or by clicking here* I got my Aurion back in March and posted details about it one month down the track, but I never put it into this section of the forums. It is quite a long story and if you have the patience, it's all over on this thread: My Aurion is now on the road If you don't want to read through it, I will sum up the basic details on the life of this car. It started it's life straight off the production line into Hertz Car Rental at Cairns Airport. Eight months and 24,522km down the line, it's registration is then transferred over to a dealer and put up for sale. It's quiet for the next couple of months and the car doesn't get too much interest and few test drives. Then all of a sudden, some strong rain hits North Queensland and unfortunately the poor Sportivo gets a bit of a flooding, not too much, just enough to wet all the carpet. It then works its way down to Manheim Fowles and is listed as a Repairable Write-Off. This is where it then becomes my car. It is cleaned, inspected, registered, and now my pride and joy. Anyways, since then, I have done the following and due to the external changes, I thought I would take some photos. This seems to be all I will be doing with the exterior for now. I was previously just interested in making this car look good with little to no regard to performance. I now have some new aspirations for this car and that is to make it a daily driver with track like performance. In the meantime though, here is what has been done to it (mostly cosmetic): - 35% Midnight Express tint - Auspacks aftermarket 7" OEM fit DVD/Navigation head unit - MTX Thunder 300W RMS monoblock amplifier driving an MTX 400W RMS Sledgehammer subwoofer - LED bulb replacements for parkers, number plate, reverse light, boot light, dome light, and side door markers - LED footwell lighting wired to function in the same way as the dome light but run independently - Aftermarket 8000k HID's - Debadged except for one Toyota emblem on the boot which has been painted black - K&N Typhoon intake - Replaced stock muffler tips with cleaner looking tips - Single 2.5" QTP electric cutout - Dual oval Varex mufflers - TRD Aurion suspension - Ultra Racing front strut brace and 19mm rear sway bar - DBA 4000 Series slotted front rotors - DBA Street Series slotted rear rotors - 17 inch Kappa wheels - Mesh front grille replacement - Painted engine cover and front trim - Personalised plates (not really a mod, but helps with the look of the car) - Eyelids Modifications coming soon: - Maybe some exhaust headers and custom pipework to the Varex at the rear So that's enough talking for now, onto the photos. This is what it looked like on the day I got it. Bad photo but I was excited. Wasn't quite perfect at this point, and still smelt a little damp: Then it was time to clean it all up: Parked next to my old Camry (which was slowly being restored to stock): The day I got it all registered and on the road. The paintwork had quite an amount of swirls in it at this point in time (even though it doesn't show on this photo): My first 'photoshoot' with my Aurion after many hours removing swirls and waxing: And the most recent photos taken on 30/10/2008. I tried to replicate the scene but failed: The one thing I have noticed with the mesh grille is that no photo can capture just how good it really looks. In person, it looks many times better. It must have something to do with having a stereoscopic view of it. For when I had my cutout, I took a video of how it sounds. This was taken from 4.5 metres away from the rear exhausts. The car is obviously under no load. I will try and get some video of it while moving to demonstrate the sound under load. As of now though, this cutout has been... well.... cut out. I've changed it over for dual oval Varex mufflers: <div>Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!</div><object width="425" height="350"> <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ib8Qkjof51g"></param>'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ib8Qkjof51g"></param> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ib8Qkjof51g" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

If traction control is working, the light will turn on for a few seconds when you start the car, then it should turn off. This indicates the self check was positive and traction control is ready. When you loose traction and the system does its job, the traction control light will flash. If you follow the procedure to turn traction control off, it will first go through the self check and the light will turn off. Once you complete the sequence, the traction control light will then come on and stay on until you next start the car. If the traction control light comes on and stays on after the car has started and you have not done any turning off sequence, you should see your nearest service department.

Brisbane Meetup (Every Thursday 9pm)
DJKOR replied to Danthuyer's topic in Previous/Past Club Meets & Events
Mine is screaming for another Nebo run again. I'm up for it. With that said, I'll definitely be at the loop at 9pm though. -
Excuse me for quoting myself, but it would be more accurate than retyping it: That said, looking over my statistics, I have achieved better fuel economy running on 95 RON PULP, but then I haven't gone into the full analysis to determine whether or not the cost difference balances out. The Aurion will run on E10, 91 unleaded, or 95/98 premium and is not overly picky. Personally, I prefer to use premium for the extra piece of mind. I only use 95 though because I haven't noticed anything significant to suggest 98 would be better in our NA Aurion's.

Probably should have mentioned; we have an Ultra Racing trader on these boards. Check it out: Ultra Racing Australia (website).

No worries. I wouldn't say knowledgeable, just first to answer. My signature photo needs an update. I will wash and wax my car tomorrow and do another photoshoot. Since my last one, my car has been de-badged, my exhaust tips were changed, and I put on a new front grill. I think I'm done on the exterior, so it's time for an update. Now I'm tossing up whether to use the same site as last time or find a new one. At least being in an industrial estate, there is no shortage of places to go. Just need the right lighting.

Thanks DJKOR, one more question (off topic) how do you get the pictures of your car to show up under you replies/posts? I just uploaded my photo to ImageShack, then used the image code in my signature: [img=http://....] You edit your signature by going to the "My Controls" link at the top of the page followed by "Edit Signature".
