  1. does the PCV return pre-turbo? If it does, the whole intake/cooler etc will be coated in oil from the blow-by. Catch can usually sorts it out, all the XR6 turbo coolers I've purchased have had a liberal amount of oil in them.

not sure... i'll have to have a look...

  2. okay, so just did a little bit of searching on the net about the xr6t and oil in the intake...

i came across something really disturbing...

    cut and pasted direct from workshop manual;

    Turbocharger Inspection and Verification

NOTE: It is normal for a small amount of combustion gas to pass into the crankcase. These ’blow-by’ gases are scavenged into the air intake system through the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system.

Some engine oil, in the form of a vapour is carried into the air intake system with the blow-by gases (this engine oil also contributes to valve seat durability). This means that oil will collect inside the air intake components and the turbocharger. This is not an indication that the turbocharger oil seal has failed. The turbocharger oil seal will not fail unless the bearings fail first, which will cause the turbocharger to become noisy or seize.

Do not install a new turbocharger due to oil inside the turbocharger or the air intake components. If a leak is detected in the oil supply or return tubes or connections, locate and rectify the source. Do not install a new turbocharger due to an oil leak.

so basically... even if the oil is leaking out of the pipes, dont bother checking the turbo, cause its definitely not the problem... ugh!

  3. jason: its a lot more oil than just blow by... especially on a new car...

its on the hot pipe after the turbo... and just last night, one of the boys pointed out that its coming out of the pipe before the intake manifold too...

which reminds me... i just see if its coming out of the joins at the intercooler too...

young: nope... he is a lazy slack cnut... :(

hahahaha, kidding... i think he forgot... i know i'd forgotten until just now...

  4. yeah... great night... glad i came out! :)

no worries mate, any time you need a lift, just lemme know.. :)

meanwhile, the drive home was fuqn HILARIOUS!!!!

seriously, i dont know why i attracted so many deadsh!ts last night...

    1) evo 5/6... flew past him and then he came up next to me and did the "yawn" motion... pulled up at the set of lights behind him and he gave me a "thumbs up"... then further down the road he gives me the "money" sign (still confused as to what he meant by that!)... i booted it on the hwy and he gave no chase... then about 4kms down the road he does the looser flyby...

    2) vx clubsport... kept trying to race me... finally gave it a go and he couldnt catch me... then he accelerated off and it was allllll noise and no go...

did i miss one rowan? i thought there were three on the way home?

after i dropped you off, i had a guy in a ae92 rolla try to overtake me on the hwy... it was fuqn hilarious...

i just continued cruising behind him and then he tried to accelerate away from me...

so i went into the right lane and cruised next to him while he was flat strap... then i just sunk my boot and took off...

  5. i had my keys in my hand walking out the door when my sister asked me to help her with something...

a quick 'problem' ended up being a 2hr headfuq!!! :(

was it a big night? i read on jdmst that the cops were supposedly called, but didnt show up...

anyway... i should be there on thursday night... might have a mate with me and might bring rowan if his gf unlocks his handcuffs...
