    My Aurion

ah yes definitely visually noticeable its quite strange comparing our new Aurion Touring with our old Camry Touring the Aurion is lower yet is taller and seats higher too bad the seats can't be lowered too
  2. oh so its Sydney thats expensive that makes me feel better now

    My Aurion

would be cool if you got a shot from the same angle
  4. oh crap NRMA charged me $1100 for 2008 Aurion just a few weeks ago standard $550 excess I am over 25 supposed to have included 65% no claim bonus already while at CBA they also gave me a quote it was about about twice that amount so I thought to myself NRMA is pretty good
  5. I have 300km on ODO now. Recent trips had average speed above 30km/h. Computer figure now says 11.8L. I'll probably start doing manual calculation next time I refill.
  6. water marks under door? yeah its been raining here at Sydney and I do see dirty water drops under the door I believe many cars get them, you just have to clean it if it matters to you regarding electronic weezzzzz from aircon I didn't t notice it but I notice a faint hum/wez sound when I switch the car on to light up the dash
  7. Yeah I am going to have to do that (manual calculation) to confirm. Smooth ride home tonight. Averaging 32km/h (according to my handheld GPS). Got home in 20mins. (usually 35+) Trip computer figure dropped to 13.8L/100km. Anyway this is still my first tank.
  8. Are they any difference milage difference for city driving? I get highway traffic jam or residental speed humps to work.
  9. Update. Have been driving to work. 125km on ODO. In the morning I got to chose between highway traffic jam, or resident streets with speed humps. In the evening its a bit better, averaging 30km/h. Trip computer figure raised from 13.5L to 15L. I could take a big detour and get better fuel economy (per km) but cruising is not good for running-in period right?
  10. actually I had to click around for a bit before I found the place to update your profile's car model
  11. wait a minute I picked up my Aurion and bought comphensive insurance last weekend if I understood the NRMA lady correctly...she said something like I get a new car if I have an accident in the first 2 years? and that I should not specify insured value but rather use market value as for the repairs, do push for it to be done under toyota guideline I couldn't imagine your insurance company giving you a problem since its a new car very bad publicity for NRMA/GIO/AAMI/etc otherwise "NRMA voids Toyota warranty"
  12. wonder if it'll become cheap enough one day and maybe become standard like how they made engine immobiliser standard by law couple of years ago as for privacy maybe next generation systems would have encryption, selective service, etc
  13. Picked up Aurion Touring this weekend. May 08 production. 3km on ODO. Drove home through highway and some hills. 22km on ODO. Computer says 13.3L/100km.
  14. Does it have information on setting the lock/unlock beeps? Anyway the camrystuff.com site seems to be down.
  15. We are going to make stickies for Aurion forum right? Lets have a fuel consumption sticky. Links to past threads. Some valuable threads might be missed by a keyword search.
  16. lol I thought this is going to be about the off-topic Falcon post... I think stickies works very well provided its given a good topic name.
  17. Actually I am probably not explaining myself precisely. Sportivo felt firmer and gave a harder ride, I could feel the bumps more. AT-X was softer, but the effect of bumps sort of ripples on a little. In the end I went for AT-X's softer ride, selecting Touring.
  18. Actually I am saying I felt the AT-X was the bouncy one. And some may takes good tyres for granted, like me. Our 2002 Camry Touring (they didn't have Sportivo back then) came with Michelin. A few years later we change the tyres and asked for the same brand. Only then we realise the stock tyres were relatively up-market stuff. We had to settle for something cheaper, which was much noisier.
  19. I test drove AT-X and ZR6 a few weeks after reading about the suspension difference. ZR6 definitely felt firmer. The sales guy looked scared so I didn't test the body roll advantage I read about. AT-X was cushy but bumpy road gave a softly "bouncy" ride. But on the smooth side road it stunt me that I was speeding. Its so refined. My friend felt the AT-X engine being smoother around 2-3k rpm but I noticed nothing. Didn't pay attention to which was lower. Sportivo easily looks lower though with the side skirts.
