  1. The radio area can be quite bright at night....but it wouldnt stop me buying the car, its very minor to me.

Can be easily fixed, just buy the 7" DVD screen replacement :D

Im sure someone will come up with a way to link it in with the dimmer.

I just noticed it one day and guessed it was the model/version number of the dash unit. Out of curiosity, does anyone else have a different code? Completely irrelevant to anything; but that's me.

I've got it too, same code.

  2. ur car looks clean as now, i want to do the same to mine. where abouts can u get this oomph glue remover from?

Thanks. Now I just need to wait for my grill and I will be the one step closer to a smooth and sleek ride. You can get oomph or other various goo-removers from your local supermarket or Big-W and the likes. Just look in the cleaning section. Big Kev's Goo Remover was the bomb when it was being sold. Oh wells, oomph is just as good.

+ any citrus cleaner....not as in orange scented, proper citrus based cleaner.

I've got a aerosol citrus cleaner from Repco thats good.

  3. So I figured, instead of putting this circuit to waste, I would replace the vaccum valve with a relay and I can activate anything electronic when at highway speed. There is quite some room for design there. I think I've got a plan that may work. I think I'll need to keep it secret though.

    I have an idea.....PM sent.

  4. Im still kind of keen to get the SRI...

As am I. Had one on my old ride and it sounded sweet. I'm trying hard to steer away from it by telling myself that the oiled filter will dirty up the intake, but once others start doing stuff to their car, I don't want to be left behind you know.

Im in a weird frame of mind with it...Ill look at it & be all yeah I want to get it then Ill look up more info and be all hmmm maybe, might just get the drop in at the end I end up thinking nah, would be better off with just the drop in.

And that cycle repeats at least once a month......

  5. I think the K&T one has only one downfall.. its right near the engine. It might take in too much hot air, But that might be just me...

I think he means he is getting the K&N replacement filter, so the intake is stock but just a new filter, not the SRI in the pictures above.

Im still kind of keen to get the SRI...

  6. Exhaust is only stock so It wont be that interesting, once I get a new one Ill definetly make some clips.

Im hoping that the stock wing will allow the Camry ducktail wing to sit underneath similar to the TRD setup. Trying to get the look without the price tag pretty much.

If it doesnt, then I might just get the TRD top wing only too.

  7. :D

    Hi.

Got me a Silver Aurion sx6.

So far this is what I've done:

    * Painted headlight housing black

    * Debadged boot & front doors

    * 'Sports' mesh grill

Enjoy the pics.....none of the interior because you all know what it looks like.

  8. oh man. i thought it was just me hearing wrongly early in the wee morning.. it hasn't happened recently but it has happened a few times.. u get the sound at the beginning wen u start and u just know its not good.. even if we brought it back to toyota, we would have to show them rite? say if something Was to go wrong wif the pistons, then it would n should be covered by warranty.. i just hope i don't have to bring my car for repairs anytime soon..

Even if we went to the service department, the engine would be warm then = no noise.

  9. Im looking at replacing oil filter & putting in semi synthetic oils myself...looking at the TSB (link below - page 4/5) it looks pretty complicated... Im used to - loosen drain plug, let drain, wrench off filter, oil rim of new one, tighten new filter, replace drain plug, fill with oil & run the engine.

The TSB for this one looks pretty complicated...has anyone done it and can they confirm if its easy or not? It looks like Ill have to put the car on stands to get under there.

Still got ages left on factory warranty so may leave for them to do.

  10. I dont know if anyone went last night but there's been a report on another one of my forums about a mate who had a bottle thrown at his Forester, smashed his windscreen and ruined many peoples nights. Apparently was thrown from the motorway onto the car.

Not promoting violence, but he wants to know who did it so they can be dealt with the appropriate authorities. If you know anything you can PM me, I wont say anything.

Bit bloody stupid to do this kind of thing at a Police run event.

  11. Ive gotta get around and do mine, but I havent even got the time to scratch my nuts lately. Lets us know how easy they come off. Any whether there was any colour differnce from where the bage was sitting.

Shotgun not scratching your nuts for you.

Come off easy, make sure you warm the panel as well as the badge. Easier to do when its a hot day.

When I did mine there was a slight colour difference but I did a wax afterwards & was fine. Mines close to 3 years old too. Ill get around to a cut/polish soon enough.

  12. Well, I've been tossing this one up for a bit and can't seem to come to actually doing it. Before I bring out the hair dryer and fishing line, what do you think about debadging the Aurion? Like, I like the Aurion and Sportivo emblems, but I also think the car would look nice without them (plus since I wax my car every week, it would be less hard to wax around them). I know If I don't like it, I can always stick it back on, but I like to get things done right the first time.

My main concern is that people are going to think that I am trying to 'hide' a lesser grade model. But I figured, someone who knows these cars would recognise it is a Sportivo SX6 due to the body kit, the lack of parking sensors, and the lack of the black button on the door handles. I really don't know. I was just thinking of getting some opinions.

You post this topic 1 day before I posted pictures of my debadging + new grill. gooooosh (Napoleon Dynamite style)

I removed the all 3 of the 'Aurion' badges (...one is adorning the blank spot under the radio), sportivo & sx6. Wifey didnt want me to do it but after I did she agreed it looked a hell of a lot better. IMO the badges as is look slapped on in a spare spot, as if the boot wasn't designed to have them sitting there. Now it looks smooth & even.

No holes/pins either...dont know about the T symbol because its recessed in the boot lid so would look silly without the badge.

Who cares what people think. It's your car not theirs. I think its an improvement actually.
