Building a fast Yaris... How much will it cost?

I've been thinking lately about swaping to a 1.8 or so turbo-charged engine, and swap from auto to manual as well

Mine is 1.3 auto

building a fast Yaris, How much will it cost as a whole project?

and did any1 done something like that b4?

i think someone did try a engine swap into a Toyota echo, but failed. your best bet is turbo charging it, but the turbo kit itself will set you back around $4000 (i'm not 100% on this cost thou i'm just working off the toyota echo turbo kit costs), on top of that you will need to get it installed, tuned, etc. Also keep in mind if that you might need to strengthen you internals if you wanna push more boost!! that can get you to the $10,000 mark or even more! Shop around and get some quotes from performance shops and to get a better idea :)

Someone tried mating a 2zz into an Echo. Good try mechanically, but failed miserably in the end, and they ent back to stock. There's simply not enough engine-bay room.

best and most fuel efficient is turboing. as one guy said its around $4,000aud. Not sure how strong the internal parts are. I'm planning to turbo the Yaris (once I get it) probably gonna add another 50hp (or in total 120kw @ the engine should be good enough especially for a car weighing 1,050kg.)

thats nice! but the rims are just way over the top! well at least on a small hatch.

this turbo kit is for the 1.5L engine

I was thinking about 1.8 or more with a turbo

now I'm thinking about selling the car and buying a new car (probably will be toyota as well)
