Pity it's basically a re-bodied Lotus Elise, with a GM engine. In fact, it's actually built by Lotus.

and how is that a bad thing?? ****s me that we send all our good stuff to the UK and we get nothing in return.....

Sorry but they're a lotus for bogans! or as they're dubbed here a 'Chav-tus' to many Chav's own them.

saw one a while back with flames up the side

the way i look at it is, sure its a nice car, but would you prefer one of these or a tommy mack edition evo6? To me the fun factor seems to lean towards the Jap pocket rockets. Once again this is always subject to opinion. Having only driven jap cars myself i cant compare but if i was to spend such money on a car, i dont think it would be this :S

I remembered seeing a test that stated otherwise.

Still a pearl of a car though.

but not everyone can drive like tiff! :(

i know the clip u're talking about

Gah! There is reason to the title 'Master' which was issued to you so long ago.

It's not a bad thing, just the original poster was claiming that the creation of the car was due to Opel/Vauxhall etc, where the real credit to most of the car goes to Lotus.

And as for sending the good stuff to the UK, we've sent a grand total of some LPG Falcons, and the last of the Monaros. Nothing flash there.

Yes my friend that was the VX220! BUT........... Look closely.......... this is the VX220 TURBO!

****s all over the lotus. Then lotus brought out the supercharged version to compete with it!

VX220 with its 145bhp and 0-100km/h in claimed 5.6 sec. Weight = 930kgs

VX220 VXR has 220 and has a confirmed time of 4.2 sec...... A power-to-weight ratio of 233.33 bhp/ton is fantastic.

This thing eats Lotus Elise's for breakfast! Its faster by a huge margin, i also think its cheaper but will have to check.

The main difference between the two is the turbo badge on the rear

Just to put it in perspective... In an overseas magazine they did a huge track day at Brands Hatch and this VXR220 was outlapping a BMW M3 CSL, Subaru Impreza type 25, Lambo Gallardo, Evo VIII MR, Aston Martin DB9, Lotus Exige and Lotus Elise 111R. The only cars that were quicker were Noble M400, Porsche 911 GT3 RS and Caterham R500!

All of this for only £25,742! Thats Subaru Sti money!

Heres the top gear video:

It's a Vauxhall and Jeremy Clarkson likes it, that tells u something about the car!!!!
