Auto Transmission Fluid? Which is good? Which is bad?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, i've looked on the threads but no luck in finding information about auto transmission fluid for an auto 1zz, so my question is which brand is good? which is Bang for buck? I was told Penrite (Penrite Sin?), and Motul is good?

Ive also been to places like Repco, Super Cheap, AutoBanh and AutoOne, they done seem to stock performance or semi performance ATF, which is what im looking for....

I know some of you guys out there are car enthusiast, and would be able to give me information and opinions...

Thanks in advance....

Cheers

P.S i will stop modding once i get 100kw atw kekeke

Yeah i got my transmission fluid changed at a service earlier in the year at toyota, and the car does drive better.

Toyota won;t usually change ur transmission fluid unless u ask them to, and i highly recommend it if u track ur car or like to run down the 1/4.

If you want more performance from them transmission, i'd go for a aftermarket torque converter

Toyota change the auto fluid at the service interval thats been recommended...

Not too sure when that is on the ZZE122 Models... Check your service schedule in your owners manual and you'll find out...

Some models change at 60,000kms and others at 80,000kms...

In my manual it says 'never' unless needed.

Thats not such a bad thing...

The new Landcruisers have auto oil that never gets changed... So much so that there isn't even a filler plug or dipstick lol...

Just like with Super Long Life Coolant lasting 160,000kms, they're making fluids last longer these days where possible...

But in saying that, if it's something you're worried about, replace the auto fluid at either 60,000 or 80,000kms intervals, just request it when you're getting a service done...
