from what ive been told and read they are H11's

Which kit are you after? I looking for a good set of HID, on the lines of PHILIPS, SIEMENS, BOSCH, MTEC, PIAA, BJUNION etc.

I had a Pair of sh*tty chinese branded ones when I had the skyline and took forever to warm up and let alone was dim.... :(

H11 is the right one, same for fog.

All hids are from china, i spend $300 and $150 and most expensive(loooong ago) $600, i dont see much different.

BOSCH is not the real BOSCH as u think, get it understood.

Just buy any from ebay, around $150 should b ok.

They are all not the same, yes bosch may not be bosch but there are brands which show their quality over another...

My friend has a philips HID kit and I compared it to my yumcha brand one and his one was so much brighter and more even. We are both at 6k.

Mine was so bad that in the rain it was shocking, I rather have philips crystal vision halgens instead...

So this said, my advise is do the research. dont just buy anything bcause its 100 bucks.

From my experience, if you want reliability, you should get genuine ballasts/bulbs.

So these are brands like philips/hella, densos (from toyota/lexus), bosch, Matsu****a etc..

but most of them will only fit D2S bulbs which are OEM bulbs.

To fit a kit, i know xenondepot have rebased philips ultinon bulbs (6k) with genuine gen4 hella ballasts..

http://www.xenondepot.com/category.php?category_id=1

and lastly, IMO, everyone who puts in a kit should check if there is excessive glare, since these projectors weren't made for HIDs...i

Here are a set of gen3 hella OEM ballast.

my aurion just installed hid, found that that the projector should b designed for HID, coz very less glare, compare to my camry 05 with hid, now tats glare!!

btw, both HID just cost around $180

^ I bought the Mtec H11 4750K bulb too, but some reason it didnt fit,

the clip things dont fit into the bulb sockets,

refer to the pics below (The red circles are the clip things that stick out and dont fit in the the socket, the original bulbs dont have the clip things)

does urs look like that?

hmm, mine had some clips but it didnt stick out so much, went straight in... did you try turning the bulb the other way?

and as a last resort file it down?

Though im kinda starting to regret the MTEC a bit, shoulda opted for some HID's....
