The US Corolla has just been unveiled, and in the most part it's the same as our Corolla sedan, except with a different grille. However, they have this model, the XRS with a Camry engine, and a 5-speed auto or 5-speed manual. They can keep their manual though. :P

It looks good, it would be good if Toyota Australia could bring such a specification over here as a Corolla Sportivo. It won't be as good as the old Sportivo, but hey, that sort of performance can be reserved to TRD.

Yeah but the Camry engine is just the 2.4L 117kW 218NM single VVTi... Not that exciting.

Should we hold out for a Corolla with performance or cut our losses? Hmm...

Just Try and order a front grill, now that would look cool...hmm I might look for one for my mum's rolla :D

Cos the states has a bigger market than Australia, different complaint levels.

They all want slightly bigger engines, with better torque and driveability.

I know this cos I work in the car design industry.

The front grille looks good on the sport XRS model, but there's something 'missing' when it's on the non-sport models as shown by this pic of one of the standard US Corollas.

I think I'll stick with my dual black horizontal bar grille, unless I had that XRS model.

Don't write off the 2.4L donk. Outta the factory it might not be that special. But I'm pretty sure it will respond to mods much much better then the 2zzge.

Exhaust and Intake from the factory are quite crap.

...and it is in a lighter car - Camry is much larger and heavier than corolla even when it was in the used in the Gen5/5.5 models
