Apparently the the instrument cluster uses surface mounted LEDs that can be changed with a little skill... Im not real good with a soldering iron but.. :(

i'm pretty handy with a soldering iron...but i don't wanna be taking my dash apart as yet...maybe later...when the new car thing wears off. ;)

Be making yaself a nice lil earner on the side ;) Id imagine that VDO or someone like that could do it for you.. Hate to think how much theyd charge but

illuminati hads some pics floating round of dash with blue and white mods.. Maybe he had his done or knows where...

nope, i dont own a stivo yet, gotta wait till 20th feb b4 i sign...

but id b glad to help anyone out with it if they want to do it. i live in melb..

on the original toc forums they are talking about chaning all the lights to red.

someone from germany or finland or sumthing has done it. have a look on there.

i'm assuming that...once you take the dash and where ever you want the lights to be changed...there will be a PCB with the LEDS or what ever type of light they use.

probably all a matter of desoldering the old ones..and soldering on the new ones.

same thing you do with mobile fones... ;)

i assume they would...but only for that part of the dash/car that you change.

just because you change your lights..they won't void your suspension warranty.

utter bull. and i've heard it happen before...sum guy lowered his car..and the engine spat the dummy a few hundred kays later...dealer said it was because he lowered it and they wouldn't fix it..

not sure what happenend after...btw it was a commodore ss

so how far u recon theyd go if u changed the dash lights?

u recon they would go as far as to void warantee on all the electrics?

*shrugs*

wouldn't have a clue.

depends on how much of a ***** the dealer is.

Based on a discussion I had with a Toyota Guy they would viod the warraty on the dash as is running different to what they originally supplied. If you altered your dash then had a problem with say the speedo circuitry on the PCB they would not replace it as the dash would be non standard. I will leave mine as standard even though the other one looks great. I have the means to get them replaced but I do not want to take the risk......now as for all the other mods I have done....:blink::blink::blink::blink:

i'm pretty content with keeping my car standard..except the wheels and lowering.

that's about all i wanna do really.

(finances are the deciding factor...heheh)

I agree with Tiger . I intend to keep my car standard except for a modified exhaust and different wheels.
