Corolla Hatch Door Strips

Recommended Posts

Hello,

i am taking off the black stripes down each door on a rolla ascent.

when i take it off there is this heavy duty double sided tape.

its not a simple "tear it off" job. because it leaves sticky crap all over the door.

ive smashed it with a few products to try get it off, but its killing me.

does anyone know an easier way to scrape the sticky stuff off?

or is there DIY around? ive searched but cant find anything.

Thanks

lots and lots of eucalyptus oil ..... $5 down at woolies/coles ....... use a microfibre towel and put a bit of the oil on it and rub it with ur finger/nail through the towel into the sticky stuff ...... continually repeating will turn the sticky stuff into a wet guck that will just wipe/drop off ...... thats how i got rid of those dodgy ebay stickers/badges i bought ..... dunno what i was thinking wen i bought them lol

If all else fails use the ol' JJcruiser last resort option... Keep rubbing it with your finger and it rolls off!!!

Try some of this product

Then polish it about 5 times once you've got the big blobs off. The hard work is worth it and then you can show off your sculpted arms to the ladies.

"Got a licence for those guns???" :toast:

did someone say... my name?

i used goo remover.. $5 from woolies? smells very much like lemon or orange citrus and the edge of an old rsl card/creditcard/license to scrape it off without harming the paint.

wait till its a hot day, use your thumb to roll the glue up starting at one end, mine took bout 30min for all of them and then a quick cut and polish and all is good.

No real need for a goo remover, as long as the glue is warm it should roll off.

use a hair dryer on it and then rub with your thumb till it rolls off it burns your thumb but once its all off or most of it them use the meguiars spray on detailer with claybar

spray on the detailer and use the clay bar to get the rest off and then LIGHTLY micro fibre it off

hope that helps

then wax clay bar the whole car after that and wax it should be smooth as a babys butt lOl

good point there.

from memory, me and the wife were taking these off in cold weather, at night.
