Wrong tyre size! Can anyone advise?

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I have a 2002 camry sportivo, needed four new tyres, (ouch $$$$$) so my husband took it to a local place that sell really cheap 2nd hand tyres. It had the Michelin vivacy 205/60/16 originally, the tyre place have put 215/60/16 yokohama tyres on and I'm wondering is this ok?

:help: I'd be grateful for any advice,

it shouldn't be a problem..

cause your only going wider not bigger..

well thats not really true, because the second number (aspect ratio / sidewall height) is a ratio of the width, so if one changes the other does. But Rob has hit the nail on the head, its only ever so slightly bigger, i wouldnt worry at all.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I feel a bit better now!! They were so much cheaper ($60 each fitted versus $240 each fitted for the michelins) and they have about 90% tread on them. I'm glad I went for them now! I'm on the central coast if anyone is interested in the tyre place I can pass on the details.
