Its a Veyron! Who wouldn't ;) :P

But I wouldn't boast about it on national tv

And i doubt they would sack Clarkson; no Clarkson = no/different Topgear

I'll agree irresponsible, but really who cares everyone has sped before. But I get the feeling he would have been stirring the pot as he would have went through a million speed cameras being that it is England.

While sort of on topic, the winning entries for TG Australia are on the SBS website.

Yeah there is also the issue of hypocracy from those who are calling for blood. They can't say they've never sped before and 190km/h over the limit is no worse then 10km/h because speeding kills right?

I am soooo not watching Top Gear Australia...

I thought it was going to be Clarkson/Hammond/May, joined by whatever bogans would make great TV down here, reviewing the Australian/Asian versions they don't get in the northern hemisphere.

Now I find out its just 3 Australian dudes doing the same format of the show.

Take away Clarkson/Hammond/May and the show's appeal is lost...

Clarkson probably should lose his job (not that I want him to, though)... the problem is actually proving he did it. Legally, thats just hearsay.

I'll still read his books though... ;)

Seems a bit like The Simpsons without Homer...

legally, hearsay if 'fact' through a third party. what clarkson did on national TV would be considered a confession. I doubt anything will come of it though. he can simply claim that it was a joke or some publicity stunt.

clarkson's pro-car enthusiest and anti-establishment persona is what makes Top Gear what it is. He makes whinning about luxury cars we can't afford seem so eloquent. I doubt the Aussie Top Gear that re-create that - shame.

It doesn't say anywhere that it was on national TV... from what I understand, that was a reply he gave to fans at the Hay festival, and a reporter jotted it down - printing 'what he heard' in the Daily Mail
