buzzes rattles

Hi all :) ive got a couple of questions about buzzy soughta rattle noises in my mums yaris.

first, the centre plastic trim in front of the speedo is quite creaky and buzzy (not the perspex the bit in front of it), does any one else with a yaris have or had this problem? and is it fixable? coz it seems to be getting worse, and the tech at toyota said well it is plastic. im just wondering if felt or somthing put under it would fix it?

secondly, the trim on the A pillars (drivers side) seem to be quite noisy and makes popping soughta noises and when u press on it it stops. does anyone know how one would go about fixing that? its the airbagless one. sounds like the trim buzzing against a clip or somthing. if u put a whole lot of felt or somthing in there would it fix it?

Typical of retarded service advisors to tell you or your mum that one. THis is Toyota's finest effort - cheap and nasty. The best thing you can do is R&R the trims and place some very thin felt tape in the areas where it makes contact with the dash but make sure you can't see the felt when you put it back together. Generally the instrument cluster surround justs pops up and out, plus the two vertical trims that meet up to it.

You mean the non-safety pack one. Yeah, just pack it up with some good thick foam tape, that'll shut it up.

thanks for the advice. I just wonder why they don't do that from the factory. And no way that it could be the first yaris for these problems that they have had in. They act like they have never heard of such a problem.

I have a rattle in the centre shroud surrounding the transmission in the wifes YRX hatch.

Its really annoying, have packed it several times with foam but the rattle still manages to come back.

Any suggestions?
