where can i find the obd connector?

If it's anything like my Paseo, it will be located in the engine bay right near the fuse box with a black plastic cover over it.

If it's not, check under the dash (a lot of cars have them located here).

would that be the labelled "DIAGNOSTIC" ? i think paseo and starlet have the same orientation of engine bay....., i was thinking of buying the OBD II scanner from ebay.....but i was looking on the connector that come with it....looks like a D shape connector.

Yeah, it's the little plastic box with "Diagnostic" written on the top of it...

I believe on your car it should be located around the LHS Strut Tower...
