Hi guys,

I need to change the battery on my remote key 2002 corolla. Can I just open the key (I can only see 1 screw from the back) and change the battery myself?

Yes, I have a 2003 and that's all I did to change the key battery.

I'll cost about $4-$5 from DickSmith.

Cheers.

I changed the battery myself on the key remote to coincide with my 30k service.. its simple to change, i used a 1.4mm flathead screw driver and it only takes 5mins max.

Even two dollar shops sell them.. i got mine from Jaycar.. it shouldn't be more than $5ea

the battery is CR1616 btw, one of those coin shaped ones

hope this helps
