Heavy/tighter steering?

Hi guys,

lately, and i think starting from 2weeks ago the steering became tighter/heavier to steer. i noticed it but i thought it would go away as i though hey, maybe the tyre pressure is too low, or weather conditions make air in the tyres expand and contract.

now, man, its heavy for a camry with power steer. i used to change lanes with VERY little effort using the 1 arm.

now, i somehow need more effort to change lanes using that same arm....

anyone for any ideas wot is going on? psteer fluid is fine, and tyre pressures as norm at 36 fronts.

it used to be VERY VERY LIGHT.

There has to be a problem with your steering rack then, or hopefully something minor like a worn pwr steering belt :(

damn, this car has only done 77,800! however it is 6years old.

My first thought would have been the fluid but as you've said that's fine.

Id'e take a drive around to a steering specialist an just have a talk to em, tell them the simptoms and see what they have to say, with a bit of luck it will be something very minor as your car has pretty low Kms.

Could be your PS pump,check fluid level, check for leaks for leaks and signs of severe fluid loss, particularly around the sterring rack..Might also check for bodies caught under the car....:)
