and at the moment still featuring many resembling parts from the current Legacy.

Legacy = Liberty. Most likely it's just a test-mule running a shortened Liberty body/chassis.

And that rendering is butt-ugly, looks like it telescopes in to fit into tight carparks..

Thats why it is rendering, the people doing it just blend a couple of lines and shapes from different models in the line up.

There are conflicting reports on this car, some sources say its been shelved while others say it is still going ahead. And as I have been told it won't be sold here. Shame as I know I would seriously consider one. Might have to import one myself if Toyota wont :P

I quite like the rendering to be honest... Its an IS 250 front with WRX rear wheel arches.

I too am going to wager that its not going to happen anytime soon, though.

but the badge in front is a toyota one..

It's meant to be a shared resources job, since Toyota own a big chunk of Subaru. Subaru will sell a varient under their name maybe with different styling but with a different engine. Much like the 323 and Laser of the late 80s & early 90s (only with different engine options). I'd like to see how Subaru's marketing department will manage to sell RWD when there whole thing is AWD is safe etc ;)
