Was just wondering if its possible to get an engineers certificate for a corolla with a 2AZ engine with a turbo charger running at 20 psi? could this even be registered for road use?

that's what the engineer who certifies the modifications has to tell you.

Cant see any reason it wouldn't be legal if you meet all the engineers requirements.

hmm i thought queenslands regulations were u can only go 0.2L higher than your original engine size. so like Corolla E15(ZRE) is 1.8L then u can only go up to 2.0L??? correct me if im wrong its just what i been hearing around.

No, depends on the weight of the car. From memory it's:

Under 900kg cars

Weight (in kg) x 3 = NA

Weight x 2.25 = FI

900-1200kg

Weight x 4 = NA

Weight x 2.5 = NA

1200kg+

Weight x 5 = NA

Weight x 2.75 = FI

For simplicities sake, engine must be manufactured after the chassis date of the car it's going into (to avoid a heap of emissions crap + extensive documentation - exception to the rule comes if the car was not complianced with the code 27). Brakes, suspension and chassis must be deemed strong enough to handle the extra power (a lot of cars will get by with just slotted rotors, some will need brake upgrades). In the end it will all come down to your engineer - basically, if they say it's legal then it is. If they don't, then there's basically nothing you can do until they are satisfied with the rest of the car.
