Ok.

So i have this 85 Corona.

With this:........

Pioneer DVD Head Unit (AVH-4050DVD)

2 Pioneer Amps (GM6300F & GM3200T)

Pioneer 12” Subwoofer (TSW306C)

4 Pioneer Speakers (2x TSG1041R & 2x TSA1672S)

OK.

So in the next few months i will hopefully have another subwoofer. Im looking for the same so a PIONEER TSW306C.

Which im hoping will run straight off the amp im using for my existing sub.

BUT!!!

Im after a you biute Pioneer sub better than your standard sub.

Maybe a 15".

Any suggestions???..........................................................

But then that got me thinking would i need to run another amp for this 3rd! Subwoofer???

If so what would be suggested.

PS. System goes like this......

AVH4050DVD >>> GM3200T* >>> 2x TSG1041R & 2x TSA1672S

>>> GM6300F* >>> TSW306C

Which ever amp is better thats for my 4 speakers and the one thats less is for the sub. Just to try and clear some some sound guys minds.

You dont really need a 3rd subwoofer, or even a second. My advice is get a good quality sub (MTX, Digital Designs, Fi) and run that off a good amp. this will save space in your boot and you wont look like such a ***** with 3 subwoofers that arnt as loud as someone elses 1 subwoofer. Just my advice. and also, do these subwoofers already come in a box or are you putting them in a custom ported enclosure?

Well mate im planning to take this into a few shows so its gotta have the all out sound sys.

The subs i will eventully have in a custom enclosure.

And mate I hate MTX and all that s..h..i..t!

Not my thing to go with something foriegn to what i already have.

So Pioneer is the go.

But i will be looking at a better amp to run these subs off when i have them.

Phantom, about your subs, mate, I don't recommend running 2 TSW306C subbies off a single GM3200T amp. Been there, done that. It wasn't generally too bad when I was just running the 1 sub, but once I whacked the second one on there I had trouble galore.

The amp works so hard to power 2 1000W subs off its measly 120W per channel output that your amp will cut in and out (as in you suddenly lose bass for a couple of kicks or so) at any sort of worthwhile volume, because the amp just doesn't have the output power to move the speakers. In fact, I would be willing to bet that you already experience this from time to time with just 1 sub. Well, imagine that, times 10. Thats about what happens with 2 subs. Eventually I blew 1 channel on my amp, and was then left with powering both subs of the single remaining 120W channel. Times cutting-out by another 10 times.

That old amp has since been repaired and retired to other less demanding uses. I now run a pair of Pioneer D-Class mono amps (GM-D7400M) for my subs, so each sub gets its own 800W amp. My subs like the power, my amps don't have to do any hard work, and I get to enjoy 1600W of boom in my boot. If you are adamant on sticking with Pioneer, I recommend you grab yourself a couple of these bad boys.

Also, once you do have that much wattage, get yourself a capacitor for your amps or you will kill your battery quick-smart. I recommend a Rockford Fosgate or Stinger 1 FARAD capacitor. I personally have a Rockford Fosgate and it works a treat.

Good luck with it, mate.

I would definitely look at having 1 'matched' amp for each sub woofer (eg. 1000w RMS sub, 800-1200w RMS amp) if you want to make any sort of decent bass out of the system, and want everything to last as long as possible.

I know from experience, that someone who has 2 or 3 underpowered subs can easily be shown up by someone with 1 correctly powered, high quality sub.

edit: also, underpowering subs and having the gain set too high on your amplifier can easily cause clipping... which is BAD!

+1 ,a quality sub with a quality matching amp and proper install, will beat any number of under powered subs, and yes BEWARE of the dreaded clip. :(

p.s mick that Eclipse system ya put together on that other (audio question) post would sound mickey mouse,is it real or just thrown together in ya head?

It's what i would put in my car if i had a spare $6000 to spend on audio... so its just a dream atm. :)

I have a somewhat cheaper eclipse system in there now, consisting of:

Eclipse SW7200 DVC 12in Subwoofer - 500w RMS, 1500W Peak (2 ohm config)

Eclipse XA1000 Amplifier - 480W RMS @ 2 ohm

Eclipse CD4000 Reciever

Eclipse EA2000 2ch Amplifier - 60W RMS @ 4ohm

Eclipse SC8264 6.5in Component Speakers - 120w RMS @ 4ohm

Eclipse iPC-106 iPod Contoler

4 Gauge wiring to XA1000 (Batt - Amp)

12 Gauge wiring to sub (XA1000 - SW7200)

8 Gauge wiring to EA2000 (Batt - Amp)

16 Gauge wiring to speakers (EA2000 - SC8265)

Upgraded battery grounding
