...I've decided to change my Castrol Edge 5w-30 at 3 month intervals, so if anyone knows, just need a bit of advice..

1. is a copper sump plug washer better than the normal fibre one one ?? and if so, how many times is

it safe to re-use it..??

2.What is the correct sump plug washer size to use for a stock 1zzfe sump plug, been told it's 12mm..is this correct ??

thanx guys..

As an aside, I've re-used the sump washer on my AE102 probably a dozen times, whilst this is probably not a good idea it hasn't leaked a drop, so it's not the end of the world if you re-use it as long as it isn't split or cracked or perished.

Hey man re: sump plug washer.

rule of thumb probly better to change it every oil change i actually work for Toyota as a mechanic and we always change them we use fibro ones and dont have a prob with it but we usally do servicing between 10,000-15,000 so yeh you may get away with using them twice or thrice its up to you just get under and check for leaks after servicing it.

Cheers :)
