So I take it you want to tie this in with the stock alarm/immobiliser?

If that is the case, the alarm and immobiliser system in the Aurion without the Smart Entry DOES NOT use CAN communication. Only the Aurion's that have Smart Entry will use CAN communication, but you can still tie in an aftermarket accessory without disturbing this.

yeah its a module that plugs in so I dont have to use the key.

It will be going on a SX6...whats that use stock?

The SX6 does not have Smart Entry hence my answer prioritised towards that. I can see you have an SX6 from your sidebar info.

sorry for the random comment, but am i the only one that read it as "canabus" (ie, cannabis)...

on topic though...

so does that mean that a proximity thingy can be installed on my car daryl?

that would be really awesome!

But why would you need this Ash? Your Smart Entry technically does this for you.

if it was a proximity thingy, wouldnt it unlock as i came closer to the car?

You're right in that it will unlock as you get into the right range.. but

yeah, but i still have to "touch" something for the car to open...

With your car as it is, yes you do need to touch something for it to unlock, but what you are touching is the door handle. It's a bit impossible to open the door without the door handle, so in practise it makes no difference. Right?

lol, if it is really windy the door might swing open, or if your on a hill.

And yes i read it as cannibis aswell.

okay, so this is where i REALLY embarrass myself by showing how lazy i can really be...

a lot of times i go to the car to grab something off the back seat... so it means i have to grab the front door handle, and then grab the rear door handle...

oh and not to mention times like tonight at the meet when my hands are almost frost bitten and it doesnt recognise my hand touching the sensor...

dunno if thats just my car or not though... i'd be interested to see if other people with the smart entry have the same issue in the cold...
