Urgent question . I was installing the reverse sensor today. And i left my key on the ignation (II) not on the start. After installing , my car cannot start. I have to ask my pals to jump start before it is able.

Do we need to remove the negative of the battery before doing any electrical stuff on the car?

It's usually advisable to disconnect the battery before performing electrical work on the car to reduce the chance of shorting something out accidentally. You don't have to do so though. It's just a precaution.

You if you do leave the battery connected though, it certainly is a wise idea to not leave the car in the "ON" position unless you intend on having the car running. All that will do is run your battery low... which you have now learnt.
