A pretty long article, good detail and info.

Course i've done this stuff, i wouldn't say it if i haven't...*shrugs* anyways

it cost me around $1,200. Carline Muffler at Mt. Druitt.

My car is a Levin. So i've only got the 1ZZ-FE.

With my first exhaust, it was 2" straight through, i was putting out 78.3kw @ wheels.

My current exhaust, 2 1/2", not straight through with the 4-1 extractors and high flow cat..i now have 85.5kw.

Doing the calculations....i have 110kw at the fly now. =)

hope this helps.

I get excellent sound! The car idles with a nice deep note....but not too loud...up to 4k rpm it gets a little louder and more deeper..then...as i approach 6k it get quieter.

Sounds great and no tinny or high pitched sounds. Deep all the way. :D

Nah, no CAI. Coz i'm trying to sell it.

Interesting.. particularly interesting because they talk about how they got 234hp@wheels with 91 octane fuel.

Although from what they said it's not going to last very long if you drive much on lift. I wonder what could be *reliably* acheived with a 98 octane target.

im assuming this is the same/similar to turboing the 7th gen celicas, in which case according to the american sites (seein as though the 7th gens are WAAAAY more popular in numbers there!) many have tried the turbo option with either failure or mild success. In short the 2ZZ is not mod friendly, however i have spoken to a few who have opted for a 3SGTE in place of the 2ZZ with good results.

It would be alot of money to turbo a 2ZZ powerplant which has questionable reliability, especiall with those who use LIFT very often. Its dissappointing as I like my 7th gen but i dont think i will turbo the 2ZZ.

BUt i have heard stories of people who have put in a supercharger to boost the torque down low, and i think it cuts out when u go into lift anyways, so maybe thats a better performance mod for the 2ZZ? Im not sure at this point as Im not tech guru with engines. Ive seen pics of a silver celica which had one somewhere.....hmm i'll try and find it!

one of the reasons i bought a sportivo is because i wanted to make it faster than it is already.

either turbo, supercharger or just one heck of a hard ***** N/A.

But...at the moment....it's very limited.
