Hi to all.

I have been really impressed by the help you have all given to each other, eg DJKOR, and hoping for some helpful advice to a problem. My wife and myself purchased a 2009 Aurion, are both app 70 years of age, travel a lot but, find ourselves with a sore backside problem after an hour or so. Purchased a 600 dollar set of sheepskin covers, all to no avail. Before the Aurion ,we had a 1997 Magna and had no problems.Maybe our age has some input, but am hoping some kind sole will respect my request, and provide a practical solution for us.

Thanks in advance,

FLNJ.

Hi and welcome.

Have you been using the lumbar adjustment?

You should also take a look at the positioning of your seats.

You will want to seat your tailbone as far back in the seat as possible, that would be done by tilting the front of you seat higher in relation to the back of your seat.

Take a look at these two links:

HI U54MOT,

I hope I am replying as I should ,and would like to thank you for your respect and advice .I have had a look at both suggested sites, and they seem to be exactly a common sense fix for our problem. Once again your respect is appreciated.

+1 to lumbar adjustment. I'm 21 and I was having a hurting back after driving the Aurion for a bit and thought that can't be normal.

So one day cleaning inside the car, I came across the lumbar buttons and low behold, it was set on the lowest position so I had no back support.

After adjusting it, its so much more comfortable now.

A good trimmer could have reshaped the seats to suit you for around that price.

+2 for lumbar support. The first week I had my car it killed my back until I adjusted my lumbar support to all the way out and I haven't had a problem since. It feels a little odd when you first try it but you'll be used to it in half an hour and it made the world of difference to me.

Hi There,

Yes the Aurion is ergonomically (seating) terrible. I have one. My wife has a Kluger which is infinitely better (Great car). Our experience to FLNJ is similar, but we are 50 odd . The Aurion, despite constant seat adjustment constantly puts my back out - My wife and boys literally hate the seating in this car (Front and back). What happens now the Aurion (code named the "Crapion" by my boys) stays at home when we go on on family trips and we take the Kluger instead. The "Crapion"....er .....I mean the Aurion is relegated to being a suburban hack.

So just because of the seating the car is completely hated? Nothing like the mechanics etc of the car is looked at to be worthwhile? Why else did you buy the car?

Personally, if the seating is not ergonomic, this would be something you would notice on a test drive. If I found that the seating was not ideal, I wouldn't have purchased the car in the first place. Why buy something you will hate, then continue complaining about it?

the minute I test drove the car I new it was the one for me....the seating is firm and fantastic...lumber support wonderful...you SHOULD be able to find a position that suits you ;0)

Guy guys now come on don't be so reactionary :) The car is very fast, the deal at the time was gr8..........can't win hands down with everything.....Notice I didn't buy a ford or a gm :)All cars have their archilles heels. It just that ford and gm have bigger heels and we were not prepared to deal with those vehicles (previous experience lets say). We always buy Toyota's, we just prefer the Kluger for all intents and purposes. I got over it months ago!!
