im sure if you go through the yellow pages you can find wreckers who specialise in japanese cars/parts/repairs or even dealing specifically on toyota parts/repairs.

You can also check the car auctions.. theres several here in NSW so Im assuming theres several in VIC.

If you checked a few threads down you would see someone is already in the process (or has pretty much finished) converting his accent sedan into a rare 2zz sportivo sedan.

Hey man, i got my sportivo from Manhein Fowles auctions, i think they do some auctions around melbourne it would be worth while to check them out, i converted mine to 6 speed manual too so it was well worth while for it, youd pay nearly the same for a new engine as a whole car from the auctions so check them out...oh and have a look at the thread link above...

Keep in mind that the 2zz engine is pretty useless without the C64 (C60 from the Celica has linkages on the wrong side) gearbox behind it (plus half shafts). It needs the 6 speed box to keep it on song. With the extra power I'd recommend using the larger Sportivo front brake rotors. This will also require the Sportivo/Celica front brake calipers, or a spacer to move the calipers out slightly.

You will also need to change the ECU to either the stock Sportivo ECU or go to a PowerFC or ViPEC. Any of those options will still require you to run a couple extra wires to the engine to activate the lift solenoid. Otherwise it should eb a straight forward swap.

hahah yeah you just need to do a few extra things...makes it a lot easier if you have a sportivo to use as parts!

I'm going through the conversion now picked up a rebuilt engine and rebuilt gearbox with wiring and ecu drive shafts engine i sitting in the car now amazingly the two top engine mounts are the same gearbox mount is different and front engine mount to , the brake callipers are not cheap got the rebuilt that way i have no problems at all, all up its properly cheaper to sell ur ascent and buy a sportivo so its up to you plus you get letters abs power windows body kit etc extra for the same price as dropping the engine in but all in all you have a sleeper and i love doing conversions I'm a mechanic so all in all i know what I'm doing and its fun :)

On topic though if you are sticking with a hatch then by far the easiest option is to simply sell what u have and buy a sportivo ..... just my thoughts on the matter.

why would i sell something that i already have ? pick up a motor and drop it in then sell the old motor if not save money with a brand new motor or sell this play around finding one i like and waist more money :S yeah mad

I got to agree with zoom; If it was me, I would sell and buy an actual sportivo.

theres a few more bits than just motor to consider, you will need an exhaust also and prefferably the sportivo driveshafts, your brakes are smaller than the sportivo fronts which you will want aswell, the ecu you can use a sportivo one and get a locksmith to recode your key to the sportivo ecu and run the extra few wires needed or you can use the whole sportivo underdash loom and security but then you will need the climate control bits, airbag bits and pretty much the whole sportivo wiring loom and airbag control setup aswell to go with it. your dash cluster doesnt go high enough in rpm for the 2zzge either so best to get a sportivo cluster.

if you get a sportivo you get climate control, leather interior,abs,electric windows and a heap of free time cause you didnt have to rip your whole car to pieces....

but if yours is a sedan or a wagon i say go hard and make somethign different like i have :P haha
