100 Series Selecting Sub Tank Stalls.

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Just got a 100 series Cruiser. Love it. 2000 model. Petrol 4.5l.

I filled up both tanks but can't seem to use the sub tank. As soon as i press the sub button the car stalls about 3 seconds later.

The fuel doesn't seem to be flowing. Anyone experienced this before? Is there a separate pump for the sub tank?

Thanks

I have this same problem in my 1998 HZJ75 Ute. I believe what is happening when the button is pressed it is turning off the solenoid valve to the main tank but not turning on the (faulty) valve on the sub tank. It runs a bit longer than three seconds but it is just as hard to restart if you let it stop as if you ran out of fuel.

Hi, I have a similar problem with my 2001 landcruiser, petrol 4.5 litre,

Both tanks are full, as soon as I press the button for the main tank, the car stops.

Anyone experience this before.

Kind regards. Jeff

Hi All,I see this is an old post, but I’m having this same issue now.Did you find the fault,my car has been at the auto Sparky’s for 7 weeks and they have no idea.I’m surfing the net trying to find someone that’s had the same issue. My 17yr old daughter was driving the car and reported a small amount f smoke from the dash,on investigation the only thing I could find was switching the fuel tank over stalled the car.

I select the sub tank and the car stalls.

Appreciate any feedback
