Hello,

Has anyone experienced the Yaris getting hot inside after driving? The heat seems to be coming from the front, probably the engine. The heat can be felt at the feet of the driver and passenger car. I have felt that in other peoples cars when i sit in them. Is there a way to fix that? Because it can get pretty hot and uncomfortable in Summer.

It didnt happen the first 6 months of getting the car. I asked the people at the service centre when i took it in for its regular service but they shrugged it off and said that the Yaris engines are close to the car which might be why. I have experienced it in other cars though. Thanks if you can unravel the mystery.

What is the last settings on your fan/aircon?

If it is on hot and on feet; that could be why. Happens with my Camry.

I notice it with my car and on some others as well. I think what you will find it it could be a tiny bit of heat from the engine bay warming up the firewall, but more so, it would probably be your heater core.

Traditionally, the heat in your car was controlled by adjusting a tap on the hot coolant lines going into the car. This in turn adjusted the heat. Nowadays there is not tap, but rather the coolant is flowing all the time and you adjust the air mix through the heater core. Because the coolant is always flowing, you can end up having some heat radiate from that area.

Yep sounds like the heater..

I noticed the same in the Camry when the Selection Knob is set to the "feet" option and the "air circulation" is set to 'Fresh air'' from outside (even though the air con/heater is turned off)
