Hi all,

We just bought a late 2005 Camry, and although the car came with lots of manuals for accessories (GPS, ToyotaLink, Service log) the main manual for the vehicle is missing!

I was wondering if anyone knows whether this manual can be bought or otherwise obtained.. I took a look around on the web and these forums, and I found that there used to be a camrystuff.com website, but that site is gone, and I didn't see anything else..

Thanks for any help,

Ross..

Manuals are hard to find, however they still can be bought from a Toyota Parts department.

Tell me about it, even the US version doesn't seem to be around. Although there a lots of honeypot sites with "workshop manual" when one searches for "gen 4 manual" or other variations.

I assume that any Toyota dealer can sell spare parts, or do I need to call a specific place?

Thanks..

Go to your local Toyota Service Centre and they should be able to order you a set in.. That's how I got mine(2091 V6 Camry), cost a pretty penny though, around $130..Body and engine are seperate manuals.

Sounds like you're talking about the workshop/service manuals. I'm just looking for the user manual, that normally comes with the car (unfortuantely the previous owner of our vehicle must've lost them)..

Owners manual goes for around $30-40

As already mentioned contact Toyota Parts, but they still may not have it, as they only keep earlier model books for a period of time after the model has been released.

Yes I was, my mistake, but good luck trying to get a Users Manual. I tried once and just gave up..

I was able to find the manual for the US version, but it's packaged inside a Flash file. They seem to have manuals for every year from 1990-2010, although the models shouldn't have changed every year (and thus not required an updated manual for every year). They seem to have one for the 2001 model year too (manualsforcars.com).

Will try to call a dealer anyway to see if Toyota spares has one..

Don't look for any links on here anymore. Someone has gone and screwed it up for everyone. ;)

Dear Stewbie

What in the name of Jesus are you talking about?

Kind regards,

Confused.

just in reference to a certain non-financial member that flamed the amount of "illegal" and "plaguristic" links on this forum (which I am yet to witness) in retort to having a hissy fit at the fact he couldn't sell his vehicle without being a financial member of the forum / club, and further to this point that it was spelt out quite clearly in front of him and he failed to realise this and got even more annoyed because of his own ignorance and stupidity :)

  • 2 weeks later...

How much was it..?

ummm it was free, my cousin works at a dealer

i could get u a price if u wanted

I was able to get a new one from my local dealer for $15 (which was cheaper than I expected), but thanks anyway.

They told me that it is quite possible to order owner's manuals for the older model Camry (36 model), despite someone previously posting that their dealer couldn't supply it.

However after reading through the manual, it is very similar to the US manual that I found at www.manualsforcars.com.

So if anyone doesn't want to pay, the US manual is good enough, although it's a flash file, and not even a PDF. You can download the flash file to your desktop to make things easier, but unfortunately there is no way to extract a 'PDF' file from the flash, the whole document is built using flash.

Ross..

There are some similarities between the 30 series and the 36 series but there are some differences. One thing that springs to mind are the headlight bulbs.

But the general overview of the car should be good enough
