CD Problem 2004 Camry

Hi Guys,

1. CD Player stopped working in 2004 Camry. Are these a general problem? A lot of people seem to report faults.

Any ideas apart from:

a. Disconnect battery to reset.

b. Clean laser lens. ???

2. Do other later model Toyota radio / cd units fit, like from Lexus / Aurion?

Hey I am not sure of fitment of other players to your car but it is good to keep in mind that players and stackers need to be used regularly to prevent the lubricating grease on the rollers and slides inside from going hard and jamming the mechanism.

Hope it is not too difficult to rectify the issue.

Most of the new double din in units in toyotas will replace the current one you have. The current shape camry, aurion, rav4, hilux...all have the same unit. If you found one cheap, it would be a plug and play job :)

alternatively, go after market. good double din units (depending on features) are no more than $500.

had the same issue with my camry as well,

i got stuck into listening FM radio for about 3 or 4 months, though not that bad, hahas.

then more waiting, my cousin comes in with his new cd, he chucks it in then it works !

ohh the mysteries,

anywany, after getting the cd to read again used it for about a month, then it stopped again ... -__________- ".....

soo i went in and bought myself a new headunit for around $220, *head unit was very recent, around feb or so*
