Light weight car battery

Recommended Posts

I am looking for Deka ETX16L. It saves around 10kg compared to stock battery. You can buy it here http://www.batterymart.com.au/dispdet.php?idw=0912040841358142#

but is it easy to install or do i need a special mount?

The same battery found in Honda Civic EK6 in JDM Yard Sydney

http://www.jdmyard.com/catalog09/deka/

I do not have any aftermarket audio system or special alarm system...so it should be ok, but I am worried about the installation

Zip ties all the way for mounting ;P , jokes

I run a deka ETX18L battery in my sportivo , probably been in there for about 1 year and it hasn’t caused any issues at all i run a relatively small 400watt rms mono block with no trouble as well.

Mine is a slightly larger cca and capacity ( 320 cca instead of 275 and 20 amp hours instead of 19) but i don’t think that should cause to much of an issue.

As for installation i just had to change one of the leads to have the ability to screw into the battery instead of the standard clamp method used. i got this done at battery world for free i think.

As for mounting, i still havent found a proper mount or been bothered to look into it realy so i just zip tied it to the car haha.

Great battery though starts the car with ease.
