Hey guys,

I have done some searching on the forum and cannot find a similar topic. I want to know if this following climate control unit would be a straight plug and play for the standard ZRE152 unit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Standard unit:

Not sure about plug and play but it will fit in there, they all seem to be the same. The only differences with ZRE trim is the head units fitted to overseas models.

I'm sure someone mentioned this somewhere before, i'll have a search too

the switch isnt so easy. I thought about doing it to my corolla as well. However the levin zr climate unit only has one plug in the back. The standard unit has 3 plugs going into it. Maybe its possible to change the wiring harness but im not sure.

Thanks for the info guys. Pezzie - that didn't even occur to me that the wiring harness would be different. Thanks for the heads up.

so would the ascent or cheaper-than-zr models actually have the electronics to run the full climate control unit, as in can they actually run a specific temperature?

i'd be interested in doing this also, im so following this thread

sorry corza, but don't bother getting this unless you have a ZR.

The ZR has temp sensors all over the car and the standard unit had 3 plugs on the back.

To Be Honest, I don't think it would even work with our Aus delivered ZR's are we don't have dual zone climate control as an option.

Sorry.

Thanks BG Pete. It wasn't something I had my heart set on but if it was a simple swap and plug job I thought it could have been a cheap upgrade. Too good to be true I guess.
