just thought i would ask anyone if they have or know someone who has fitted a lightened flywheel to a 4AGE 20 valve. My 20v is in desparate need of a new clutch and before i fit the new excedy HD clutch kit, i thought i might look in to fitting a Lightend flywheel at the same time. do the 20v's like a lighter flywheel? or does all drivability go out the door? I have had a quick look on the net what ppl have been putting in there toyota's, these are, TRD=TOMS, TODA, TILTON, QUATERMASTER and FIDANZA. Which one would be the best 4 price and quality? Also where is the best place to buy it? If any one could help me that would be great. :)

Just get the standard flywheel lightened by a performance shop. works exactly the same and is a lot cheaper. And no it doesn't weaken the flywheel if it's done properly. I've been doing it for years on many makes/models of cars and have never had a failure.

if you're going to lighten your stock cast flywheel, please get a scattershield if you value your passenger's life.

Otherwise, you can try and get an AE111 20V flywheel which is a good couple of kilo's lighter than the AE101 20V flywheel. There's also a bunch of aftermarket alloy 4ag flywheels with steel inserts.
