Ticking nose from exhaust after longish drive

Everytime I go for a drive and the car gets pretty heated with some spirited driving. After I've parked my car in the garage and turn it off. A very rapid ticking nose comes from under the car middle of the exhaust(the fat part of the exhaust).

What is this nose???

yeh that happens to every car. The metal expands alot when it is very hot and when it cools down it shrinks back to normal size hence the ticking noises. It is basically minute rapid movements between different parts of the exhaust system. Nothing to worry about mate. biggrin.gif

Double check to ensure that no one has strapped a heat sensitive explosive device to your car. Could be the timer on it counting down more and more each time.

On topic though, the two posts above pretty much answer your question.

That's the new "anti-hoon" device if I'm not mistaken

Crap!! I just had a look, do I cut the red wire or blue wire? :P.

But thanks anyway guys, I had a feeling it's nothing bad but I've always wondered what's going on here.
