Hi guys

Been a while since i last been on the forum. Ive added new Roger Jane Racing Rims to my Camry Sportivo 18" Chrome Torque. Goin to start doin other modifications firstly getting it lowered. Can anyone suggest whether i should go for the Genuine Sportivo Springs or another type such as King Springs?

I saw that Pic on the Bob Jane site (just moved to the west myself) and it has inpired me to do that with mine.

I got a quote on King Springs $220. Differnt toyota dealers have quoted me differnt amounts for the Sportivo springs so be careful. Fitting has varied from $440- $120 + wheel alignment.

There is a good chance that King Sprngs make the spring for Toyota!

How did you find the new wheel/tyre combo ?

Also I am looking at the K&N airfilter about $100 and the sportivo muffler ($330, some dealers $393)

Cheers,

I shall definitely look into those springs. The guys at Bob Jane in Joondalup were awesome they advised me what would suit my car the best and did up a package within my price range. All up i got the Rims and Bridge Stone 225/45/R18 G111 for 2850 on 12 months interest free and was stoked  I also asked him about lowering and he reckons the Sportivo Springs wont lower the car enough so gota do some investigating.

The Sports Exhaust from Toyota is designed for the sportivo. Below are the items i got quotes for from Grand toyota in WA

Sportivo Springs: 480

Sports Exhaust: 358

High Mount Spoiler: 472

(Unfitted)

What do you guys reckon about the pricing the question is do i stick with genuine parts or go to any exhaust, or suspension stockist??

i've got King Springs on my Camry, and its fabolous. costs me $220 just for the springs then another $240 for installation. I don't see the point of lowering the Sportivo, as its looks good anyway with the sport suspension.

what kind of sport exhaust are you getting???

mmm interesting

I think you've convinced me about going with king springs.

As for the sports exhaust im not to shore i almost got a custom made 304 stainless steel piping, resinator and exhaust for 1350 but didnt go through with it cos wasnt shore about the pricing.

I want something thats going to sound good but not over bearing, maybe add a bit more performance thats why i thought about the toyota sportivo exhaust which is designed for the car? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated :)

well....i dont know much about exhaust myself. but im trying to get an exhaust thats not too loud but gives good performance. I've been asking around in toyota forum and most guys told me to get either a TRD Exhaust or Borla Exhaust.

I don't think they've got it here in Australia, but you might be able to get the TRD exhaust from toyota, but DAMN its so expensive $400usd. While on the other side the Borla Exhaust is basically the SAME THING AS the TRD exhaust just WITHOUT the TRD Badge.

http://media.putfile.com/BORLA-exhaust

thats a video clip of the Borla Exhaust. Most people said that the BORLA & TRD exhaust sounds like a Nissan 350z, When you put it in the V6 camry. (if you don't trust me watch that video clip)

The Borla Exhaust is $207usd (www.borla.com) and should gives around 7-10hp maybe even more :D

The Sportivo Exhaust doesnt give the full power, compare to Borla or TRD Exhaust. The TRD or Borla Exhaust gives a deeper nicer tone than the Sportivo Exhaust.

But seriously, if you're looking for an exhaust that sounds mean but not VERY loud TRD or Borla Exhaust is the way to go..... In normal driving the sound is smooth (the sound similar to stock exhaust) :D

If i were you i'll go with BORLA Exhaust as its $200usd cheaper!

i'll let you know as im buying it from the US next week.

In my investigations yesterday I found out that the I can get a Unichip all fitted in Perth for $1500. - will reduce fuel consumption unless hoofed. But must get tuned after any other modifications ie exhaust and air cleaner.

A full exhaust system for $950- including high flow cat and muffler - 2.5 inch system. But he said you must get a Unichip afterwards or it will run lean.

Springs at City Toyota Perth i got quoted Defiantly but I will go with the King springs as they are Good and cheaper. Just got to find a good mechanic to fit them cheaply!

Sports muffler from Toyota I got quoted at $330 and $393 once again diff dealer diff pricing. Fitting approx $90

Just check your insurance covers you.

Ah I think the King spring place in Perth quoted me about $460 drive in drive out without alignment , but if I am getting 18" wheels the next day.......

:P

one place told me that I already had sports springs and had it lowered. The Current model Sportivo is just upgraded shocks as far as I can gather from the toyota site and speaking to them.

PerthCamry

Definitely mate ill let you know when the car goes in you can have a look

The fuel catalyst is excellent i save quite a bit on fuel now because i get more k's out of a full tank and dont have to fill up with premium anymore.

Rims are 18" by 8 1/2" and look awesome.

Hi spordeano,

One of the tyer places said I could not go over 7 1/2 rims width wise or they would stick out of the rims and casue grief from the Law. Do yours fit OK ? if so I will have to go for those ones as BJ seem to be more helpful than other places. :o :D
