I always wondered why i crunched going into gears while in lift , it wasnt all the time but 50% of the time, i rang a couple of gearbox guys and they said it was the synchros , and then another guy said it was the way you drive, but tonight was the first time i ever downshifted into high RPM (6500-8000) and it crunched every single time. So i am pretty sure my gearbox synchros are gone, mind you this was downshifting into 2nd, didnt try 3rd or 1st, and to be honest i dont really want to, i dont often drive my car hard.

Anyways

What would be worth doing to the box? Rebuild, replace?

+ places to take it to?

If so how much would it cost roughly and yeah any other info, thankyou :)

Paying someone to rebuild the box with new synchros would be around the $2k mark with labour.

MWR sell new boxes for about $2200, then with shipping and tax makes it about $2900, but no labour in the swap (about $600 at a guess).

What oil are you using?

How do u know it's syncros ?

Is your clutch disengaging 100% ?

Where is your friction point ?

How many km on your car ??

I'm with sd. Just get a mwr n chuck it inside. Comes with LSD too. Only if your box is rooted though lol

Where is your friction point ? 3/4 when i push the clutch all the way in

How many km on your car ?? 95000km

Is that where you get the 14mm spanner and change the length of the clutch pedal? if so i tried that and it did nothing

No.. Behind the pedal, pushrod to the master cyl. I'd be trying that first cause it's free, try free things first before spending thousands..
