Hey guys,

Just wanted to ask if the charcoal canister has any influence on fuel economy?

Cheers

No, the canister captures petrol fumes from the fuel tank and stores them there. When the ECU judges as necessary, the canister will be periodically purged using air and burnt inside the engine. Thus you are being more fuel efficient by not venting those fumes to atmosphere ... think of it as a 0.001 kW hybrid system!
