Gday guys

looking to do an engine/tranny conversion on the corona. seen alot of different engines chucked in these cars.

Was thinking the 4agze + 5 speed combo. nothing too extreme. just something relatively easy and pain free with half decent results. dont wanna spend more than $2k if i dont have to.

any ideas on costs, best people to see in SA, if need to go over regency, extra points to consider.

thanks for any help.

this pic is what it looks like.

The st141's weight under 1100kg so the 4agze 'should' be enough.

But if you are going to pay people to do the work, its going to cost over 2k.

ie. 4A Engine/Gearbox crossmembers need to be changed to suit 2S

Tailshaft if you are going to use a T50 (better of with the W series)

If using the W series, will need custom bellhousing/clutch setup to the 4A block

Fuel system, ECU and loom

a 3S swap may be more affordable or 7M maybe?

So a 7m can fit into the Corona engine bay ? Does this mean that a 1jzgte or 1ggte should also be a great choice and actually worth the change ? The engine mounts for these engines are the same as the 22RE ? :$ Sorry totally new to this and best to ask questions to those who know a lot more than make a mistake haha....

I have seen T14Xs with all of the above engines (1G, 7M, 1JZ), although I'm not sure if any of them required firewall mods. You'd most likely need some kind of custom engine mounts too, nothing ever just "bolts in" to a chassis that never came with that engine series from factory - I've seen stuff on the internet say that the 22R ones fit the 1G but I've also heard people (whom I respect for their technical knowledge) say that you'll need different ones

Oh okay, sounds fair enough. I guess one of those future investments if funds go right and everything else. Thanks for the info!
