I am trying to fit an aftermarket alarm to my ae112. I do not have factory central locking, just the key that unlocks all doors from the drivers door.

My question relates to the central locking system. What type of central locking actuator is fitted?

So when you unlock the car from the drivers side all the doors unlock? if yes you have central locking just not remote central locking. Do you have the lock/ unlock button on the drivers side arm rest? if you do have the lock/ unlock switch wire the remote central locking into that, from memory the wires go through the door into the drivers side foot well into a relay box, find out what one is for lock and what is for unlock and wire the alarm into them.

You should also find with wires for the indicator lights under the plastic on the steering column.

The lock type on toyota's is negative trigger. Tap the alarm control wires in to the door control module which should be near the drivers kick panel.

Thanks for the help. I have the standard central locking not the remote central locking

The alarm system I am installing has a Toyota key blank which I can get cut. Will this still work with the immobiliser? What de activates the immobiliser, is it the key turning or is there a transponder in the key head?

There is a carbon transponder chip in the key head. What alarm are you installing?

As long as the key you have now that works the car you can use that to code in the new key, but I don't see why the alarm will be coming with a new key, you only need a remote.

new key probably has the remote built in like a late model toyota ley.

The alarm I have comes with a flip out Toyota key on the remote

If the remote has a transponder for the Toyota immobiliser how do I code the new remote to the car?
