im using 5w-40 atm,

changing to 15w-40, as it seems to drink oil more,

i change every 15,000 as its daily driven

15000 per oil change isn't that too long?

I changed it every 5000 and even then the oil are blacker than the black hole.

5000km is excessive for the 2az. You can get away with 10000km no problem, just use a quality Semi-synthetic oil.

I change mine every 7500 and I don't exactly baby it.

Regular oil changes will lessons the amount of dirty build-ups remaining inside the engine. You cannot completely remove old oil, so the longer the dirty oil stays in your tank the more build-ups likely to past through the engine...and stay there. Over a long period of time every moledules counts.

You can spend $100s on top quality oil and change them at 10,000km, or you can spend less but correct recommended grade and change them every 5000Kms, the result might be the same costs wise over a period of time, but not the build-ups.
