Hi guys

So I'm pretty much a newbie and I've been lookin around a bit

But I'd just like a list thing on what people would consider to best the bang for buck mods

The car is a 1996 celica zr (manual)pretty much stock except for a pod filter 😜 such a noob

Any how I'm looking for performance with too high costs

As I'm 17 with more restrictive parents than bank but I'm not loaded

I'd like to keep the car N/A

I was thinking cat back exhaust possible extractors

Suspension strut and sway bars

Ecu and tuning stuff

I've looked a bit it's jst filtering through all of the info and matching what is relevant to me vs a gt4 and other yr gen models

I've tried to be as to the point as I can but with some detail if u need more please ask

Thanks for your help

turbo manifold, turbo and piggyback / ecu or 3sgte cylinder head with turbo+manifold etc

Will be your biggest bang for buck - but it's not NA.

Having been through this issue myself, after many painful years of driving a 'slower' car I bit the bullet and swapped in a 3.0l V6 and 5spd.

Maybe a 2.0l 3sge head swap might be a good move for a budget upgrade? I wish I could help more - hopefully someone here will chime in with some more info. I am more familiar with the turbo bolt on and the V6 swap both of which will give you some really good power upgrades.

But as far as exhaust / pod filter / CAI, extractors etc you sadly just aren't going to see a big jump in power.

Good luck

I probably wouldn't waste much time or money on the 5SFE. Have you thought about a Beams swap? I did mine about a year ago and I'm loving it.

Depends how much you want to spend really. If you don't want to spend much then I'd say concentrate on handling rather than the engine.

5SGE is possible. only gets about 20 more hp but reves much higher into the rev range. I would save the money and not get a ecu and go for a beams conversion but 5sge means you keep everything except the head and timing belt and tensioners and some other stuff.

I would go with suspension and sway bars and maybe a exhaust.

Coilovers and sway bars will give you heaps more fun than engine mods... engine mods never leave you fully satisfied...

Oh and dont cheap out on tyres ;)
